Sometimes, only sometimes I can cheat.....! In Affinity I have a tool called perspective where I can grab the corners of a picture and 'tweak it' to get rid of any non vertical effects. The horizontal can normally be sorted with a simple straightening tool. Have to be careful though as it can make the picture look distorted, don't use it very often but it is nice to have just in case. Used it to a limited extent on this picture to get the engine shed looking vertical as in close up's the camera lens does give a distorted view.

Every now and then you take a picture that looks and feels right. The next one falls into that category, as soon as I saw it in the viewfinder it looked right. Here are two versions, colour and monochrome, for you to decide which looks best. I have my favourite and it is already my desktop picture on the computer.
  3. Travelling crane back! Picture taken from an unusual angle. Had to push the camera between the engine shed and water tower without crushing the fence beneath......one of those hold your breath moments.

For those of you interested, here is a seldom modelled item - a compost heap with three sided bin... This was made 10 odd years ago on a separate module that follows the fence line so I could work on it on the bench. Has been titivated a few times over the years....

With the Harbour Masters building removed I was able to stand the camera in its place to get these views.

My plan is add plenty of ropes of all types and sizes, floats, flags, buckets, rubbish, junk and anything else I can think of. I want to make the area look a mess!!

Lobster pot update. Getting better, must leave now for paint to cure. Looks better to me!

Agree. The pictures I took a couple of years ago at Paignton show what looks like hundreds of them. Your pictures indicate the rope colours I was on about along with pot identification bands.. Thanks for posting

Lobster pots built. First pass at colour but I think they need to be whiter as the pictures show very light grey shade when left in the sun. As as we know it never rains in LM. Looks like I could do with some more as 12 doesn’t go far....

Cranes back.....! Or just using some up from the archive?

Had to retake a series of pictures because I had the 'ghosting' back again, wrong setting on camera as it was on P and not A so had to start again.... 2251 backed up for coaling, removed the tracked crane and timber so the camera could sit there and get this different angle. Crane removed as it is on the other side of the layout for that earlier group picture....!
