I shall miss you immensely on here. It's been wonderful to see such talent grace our screen.
Fare well
-
cheers for letting me know. I was wondering what was going on the with the allocations section.
-
I'm very much looking forward to seeing the outcome of this
-
I like it
-
Cheers guys, it just struck me the other day that all the rolling stock is about 4 different generations of Hornby!
It's going to be weathered black. With the wooden coaches peeling at the edges. I was hoping to have it done before Blythe expo but I don't think it's happen

cheers man
-
cheers ess1uk. It worked pretty well especially running as a block unit. I'm going to try it out on my sulphate train (as there were some running problems at our last exhibition) and parts of my up and coming breakdown train.
-
Cheers mate, hope you are well. Haven't spoken in a while.
-
I managed to catch them for the last time today. Call me sentimental if you may but it is quite sad to see them go.
-
Matthew, words evade me.
-
Got well into series three and watched the lost tales recently. I seriously regret not watching it when I was younger.
-
What that man said, thank you so much for such a dedicated piece of work.
-
Thanks for the kind words. I initially sprayed with primer aerosol. But the green was brush painted. The rough and tumble has slight chipped it but I cant see it doing the same with 4 mill stuff :-)

Its defiantly an extravagant toy.
There are a couple of things that go against it, mainly being the pricing and the size. There's also the security to think about plus the domestic politics.
But all things considered, it doesn't have to be that expensive depending on what you want from the hobby. The reason I managed to afford a Lady Anne was purely down to 6 months saving up and a bloody mindedness towards it. I'm lucky that I don't have many bills to pay, only the rent to my parents and my mobile phone contract.
However, as you may have seen, I'm also working on a tram loco using an IP Engieering chassis which is costing me around

It was a very nice exhibition some very good layouts in attendance.

That is beautiful Mikkel
-
how many!?

I'm liking what you've done, whitemetal figures and good n'all but with a bit of paint and weathering (as well as the old amputation or two), you've just shown what can be done with some general available figures.

Cheers chaps, I thought I replied here...
must not have worked.Yeah, I was debating adding a bunker or not but decided against it as I'd quite like to see some coal in the cab sides. I have added some side sheets to the reverser doesn't jam with the coal.
Oh cool, I'll varnish her once the transfers are added but she's been set aside as 16mm is my main priority atm.
Sweet, cheers for the tip there halfwit. I'm going to be doing the same for the big tram loco red buffer beams) but as it's larger, I might just look for some car body spray, but for my smaller engines that's a great piece of advice; and Thanks for reassuring me, I've understood to have been a little paranoid when putting myself out there.

Hi there Gerrynick
Cheers for the tips there, I'll hunt around for the carr's stuff and the german grey. I do have nato black which appears to be good for clean weathering.
16mm, atm I'm still using LGB/Aristocraft track, I'm a littled daunted by the whole digging thing.

Cheers guys.
Yeah, the open back thing I do quite like, at first the loco looked a little ungainly and front heavy but once the cow catchers had been added to both ends, it looks a little ore balanced.
The partial inspiration of mine was one I saw in Railway Modeller a few years ago. Wasn't a great layout ad I wasn't too impressed by the pugbash itself but it had a few good points which I took from.
Mine was originally going to be quite lighthearted but then I think these things are resigned to a fate which I don't think they necessarily deserve. I think something quite respectable can be made from them, providing you're willing to put in the effort.

Cheers guys, no don't apologise halfwit. There were a lot of mistakes a made with this model. I'm gonna retain the large rivets for future locomotives (Im planning to build around four of the blighters) although they are unnecessarily huge. The plasticard I used was way too thing and found it warping slighting with the fitting of stuff but that will be disguised once it's fitted together.
Next time I'll use slightly thicker plasticard.
I'm hoping the chap who made County Gate, Cliffhangers, and Glenthorne Harbour will appreciate the effort if not the model.

Top drawer man.
Especially for N gauge.
Normally I just use humbrol paints but you're persuading me to invest in some weathering powders.
