  1. Thanks Andy G, I think it might be a local box.
  2. There is only one platform because when a passenger train is in the station a freight or fast passenger can pass in the other direction or overtake in the same direction. Stopping trains in either direction are once an hour.
  3. Thanks for all your contributions, folks, it's really much appreciated. The through line would be a busy single track main line. The upper loop would solely be for the timber trains collecting wagons. I presume there would be 3 aspect signals at each end of the through line and the platform loop. What other signals would be required, particularly on the goods loop. What shunting signals would be required on the other signals, if any?
  4. I see what you mean about Highley. Just had a look at Google satellite image. What would be the signalling for this layout, assuming colour lights and 3 aspect on main?
  5. So, in the UK would it be more correct to have 2 platforms, one for each direction? I was envisaging the stopping passengers using the platform and passing freights and passengers the through line. Is there no chance this would have existed in the UK?
  6. Hi all. Can anyone tell me if the attached is a valid layout.
  7. Sadly, I'm busy already on the Saturday as well, and like some others, will be going to DEMU on the Sunday.
  8. I must admit it would be good to have an idea of a proposed time frame of each of the remaining stages. I think we all realise there will be slippage but an idea would be good. Hopefully they'll get through a lot quicker than the N gauge Class 17s
  9. Oh no. I had that from Christmas to new Year and my nose hasn't stopped running since! Hope yours goes soon. I'd be quite happy with the class 92 one. Maybe you could source them from Bachmann, the one on the Class 90 looks fab.
  10. I've been looking at photos on the net, Andi, and there are definitely APTs out there with a BWHS pantograph. There are also some with the older, Stone Faiverley (I think) type also fitted to the earlier electric locos. I would prefer the BWHS one? Andi, what's your thoughts? Dave, what are you thinking?
  11. The pantographs don't look much better than the ones on the Pendolino. Anyone know better? If not, will have to buy a few new class 90 spares.
  12. Why not just use the same one's as on the Class 92. That's what I would prefer, albeit on a platform that allows them to stay in one place when the train tilts as per the prototype.
  13. Dave, is the pantograph going to be the same one as on the Class 92, i.e. the BWHS pantograph?
  14. I have a sound equipped Hornby APT at the moment, and am considering ordering one of these to replace it. I have 3 ESU 3.5 version chips on board, one at each end with horns and door cab opening and compressor sounds on, and one for the power car noises. These were recorded by Legomanbiffo, I understand from the APT at Crewe, so presumably it was started up for him. There are recordings on his YouTube channel of his similarly equipped APT set.
  15. You might be able to have mine, I'm not thinking of running 2, but still deciding which set to order, probably the 10
  16. Would someone with more knowledge than me like to list the potential UK liveries that the locomotive could carry (excluding any carried abroad)?
  17. The pantograph is very realistic. Nearest I've seen yet to the real thing. I hope Bachmann will be making some spares.
  18. Could some explain in as much detail as they have gleaned what car types are being proposed (in OO) and what formations are available in the set options proposed? Sorry to be so thick, but I just can't get my head around it?
  19. I would go along with this as well. I, for example, am very interested in a 3 + 1 + 3 or maybe a 4 + 1 + 4, which whilst not possibly realistic, would allow me to run something of a reasonable size on my layout. I haven't yet expressed my interest on the website as I'm not exactly sure how to do that for what I want. For me it would have been better to list the individual cars that are being made and let me put a tick against the ones I want. Then I could have any combination I fancied.
  20. EWS livery please (Already reserved a Freightliner)
  21. For me the most obviously wrong part of the Bachmann OO gauge class 350 pantograph is the base, which is nothing like the real thing, see the attached. Compare that to the real thing above.
  22. Looking at the pantograph detail (attached), it does seem to be a very reasonably accurate representation of a BW pantograph. Much better than the class 350, which I would rate at 6/10, due to not having the correct upper top section (blue in diagram) and incorrect structures at the base(mauve).
  23. Attached is a specification file for the new Mark 1 Seris OHLE for anyone who is interested. Mark 1 (F +F) New Style OHLE.pdf
  24. I personally am really impressed, provided it looks the part and proves to be durable. Bring it on.
