  1. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Housework beckons this afternoon, I've a heap of jeans that need washing but drying them outside is not really possible in this weather and there's precious little space indoors.
  2. I hope you get the registration of the taxi and reported it.
  3. I quite liked semolina, especially with a dollop of strawberry jam stirred into it.
  4. I (briefly) studied violin during the first two years of secondary school. Complaints were made to the RSPCA about cats being strangled.
  5. Morning all from Estuary-Land. I'll be spending this morning sorting out more of the intricacies of the extra's of the car, I will also be trying out the best place for the dash cam. Though the car is equipped with two lighter sockets there was no lighters, but in a lidded box fitted between the seats I found a rubber plug that obviously fits the sockets. There might be another one somewhere but as a none smoker I'm not too concerned about the lack of a cigarette lighter.
  6. You forgot spam, spam and spam.
  7. School meals, the one thing I hated was tapioca pudding or frogs spawn as it was universally known. It had the same slimy texture as frogs spawn and absolutely no flavour which was probably a blessing in disguise. My favourite desert was crumble, either apple or rhubarb even though the custard was a bit watery.
  8. My previous car, a Hyundai i10 was a bit underpowered, especially if you used the air-con. Its replacement, a Nissan Note is quite sprightly so now I've got to keep an eye on the speed. On the i10 in top gear 30mph was 1500 rpm on the rev counter, on the Nissan at 1500 rpm you are doing 35mph. When it comes to parking I always reverse park whenever possible but in some car parks you are expected to park nose in.
  9. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Dinner was egg and chips, quick and simple. I've been wearing the knee supports and so far they do what it says on the tin and I hardly notice I'm wearing them. Now to catch up on the sudoku.
  10. I've tried on the neoprene knee supports and its like having a new knee. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/355287281484
  11. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. I've managed to sort out the heater/air-con controls and I can set them to my liking. The radio controls I've already sussed and is OK as long as nobody touches them, I use the controls on the steering wheel. The clock is for later as its one of those that you have to go forward 23 hours to go back one hour. As for the interior lights there all I can find at the moment are instructions for changing the bulbs and that there is a light that illuminates the boot which I will have to check out. When I purchased it there were two brand new tyres on the back axle and two slightly older tyres on the front so when I had it serviced I had them swap the tyres over so that the new ones were on the front.
  12. Industrial locomotives seem to be big sellers whether steam or diesel. An ideal fireless prototype would be the one built by Andrew Barclay, production of which exceeded all other builders put together.
  13. A RTR fireless loco would be nice.
  14. Morning all from Estuary-Land. Slept very well last night, about 7.5 hours sleep in all. A package arrived this morning containing a pair of neoprene knee supports, which I will be trying on later. Another muggatee and then I will be studying the owners manual. Be back later.
  15. We are a long way north and at this latitude we should expect a lot of snow in the winter. If the Gulf Stream were to stop North West Europe is likely to experience some very cold winters.
  16. I will be spending the weekend with the owners handbook in hand trying to sort things out.
  17. Evening all from Estuary-Land. Not a lot from Arthur Itis this evening but he's still grumbling away in the background. I will be tackling Farcebook shortly, wish me luck.
  18. Afternoon all from Estuary-Land. Arthur Itis is to the fore again so more Nurofen has been taken. When the car was serviced they found that the wiper blades needed replacing, that is with only one month since the MoT. I'm still finding features such as the lights come on automatically when light is low. I also need to find out how the interior lights work, there are six lights in all in two groups of three, how they interact with each other is a mystery but I think the rear cluster includes reading lights for the rear seat passengers. This weekend I'll be studying the owners manual.
  19. I still have that option on my laptop but I haven't used it for years.
