  1. If you have a smartphone or tablet there is a free app called Hobby Color Converter that show equivalents for a wide variety of plastic modelling paint ranges inc Vallejo and Lifecolor
  2. Thanks. Going for the 3 platform faces as per the original plan Dan
  3. Rather than get involved Christmas decoration installation today I took the chance to do a little 'real life' track planning. Rather than using commercial laser-cut baseboards that I'd used on my Swiss HOm 'Santa Maria' and HO Freemo modules I decided to revert back to good ol' 2x1 softwood with ply decks. 2 900mm x 450mm basic boards and a sector plate While I'd worked things through on AnyRail actually laying track out showed that the geometry on the PECO Bullhead Code 75 points in the software was a little out meaning thay the entry / exit road wasnt quite a so much of an angle.
  4. “It’s a grey autumnal day. Probably not rain but grey and overcast none the less. The cold breeze whistles around the missing panels in the station canopy roof which adds to an air of neglect from the peeling paint and dirty windows of the station building. The headlines of the morning papers on the station newsagent stand talk of more industrial action. In the platform a work-weary DMU burbles and rattles in the platform waiting to depart while a Class 25 slowly pulls up to the pair of parcels vans loaded with orders despatched from the nearby Smallwoods mail order catalogue. ” Rhodes Square is a small urban terminus in the NW of England set across the end of the 70’s into the first couple of the years of the 80’s. Passenger services handled by 1st Generation DMUs are the main traffic of various types but the nearby mail order warehouse provides parcels traffic powered by Class 25s or 40s. There are also a few sidings remaining to handle air-braked vans serving the local Metal Box factory and the occasional short engineers’ train. The track plan draws very heavily from Ian Futers’ ‘Victoria Park’ track plan for the station section. Track to be used is Peco Code 75 Bullhead with the 3 long radius points powered Czech made MTB point motors. Overall size is 2700mm x 450mm

  13. Not posted for a while as layout has been in storage with no shows on the horizon. However with Santa Maria heading to the Erith MRS show at Longfield Academy, Longfield, Kent the last week has seen a bout of activity. First is the addition of 2 more sidings in the fiddle meaning most stock can stay on the rails. A defective point on scenic side had to be replaced after diagnostics failed to find a lack of current in one direction in the frog. A couple of extra bits of stock were commisioned inc RhB 222 to head the heritage 4 wheelers. Finally a few more trees were added
  14. Santa Maria (RhB) loaded up to travel early tomorrow AM. Looking forward to a great show
  15. Update 16/09/22: After consideration we will be continuing to hold our exhibition this coming Saturday 17th Sept. Also we regret to confirm that Plus Daughters will not now be able to attend due to illness. Looking forward to having our show again after our enforced break!
