  1. Class 43 Warship perhaps?
  2. Here are the other three Russ P and anyone else that is interested. River Rother, River Don & River Sheaf 20030, 20064 & 20118 https://class20locosociety.co.uk/blog/2017/5/three-to-the-sea---thirty-years-on
  3. Just a quick question as like a few people I am unable to get to Warley this year due to work commitments. The O Gauge Class 47 version 2/3. Is there any hints, clues, ideas yet which batch of 47's is planned? 47/4, 47/0 or 47/7? I would hope all variants would be released at some point, but apart from a brief mention last year all has gone quiet.
  4. Link above for Wizard Models does not work but the one on the Hull MRS Website does work, or just search for Wizard Models on your preferred Search Engine.
  5. As mentioned above in a previous post... he is due to be at Warley and Doncaster February 2019.
  6. Although it is a bit of a trek... If you are going to Warley I believe Shawplan is one of the exhibitors. If you are not going then, he is one of the exhibitors at The Festival Of British Railway Modelling, Doncaster Exhibition Centre, The Racecourse, Doncaster - 9th and 10th February 2019 according to the website.
  7. Although 60001 & 60002 both top and tailed Test Coach 6 from Derby to Scotland with the Redland cement train, where both 60's and test coach made it as far north as Inverness TMD from pictures which I have come across online.
  8. If you model in 7mm the MHA & MFA are available from Buzz Models as a resin body.
  9. I was not meaning the PRMRP Kit. Although I have seen a couple of these at the O Gauge Guild and they looked ok... but what do I know...I’m no expert.
  10. I thought that the model was being built in conjunction with the Class 50 Fund? Have they given a definitive review of the final model to be released? Are they 100% happy with the model? If they are think there is nothing wrong with the model and it looks like it should then I might reconsider buying one.
  11. I am not sure if RTR. All I know is that the body was being 3D printed and not being done by usual big companies like B, Ho, D or He.
  12. Yes I was hinting at the MM1 (JLTRT) kit but wasn't sure how this compared and also I know people's opinions are devided on previous company. Not mine as I have not had any previous issues.
  13. There is an alternative class 50 model (kit) now available in 7mm in original and modified version. Although not RTR it is a choice of HJ or not HJ!
  14. I would have thought the whole point of doing a poll is to get views of a wide spectrum of people's views, which means covering more than one gauge. Not just trying to manipulate the questions to get the answers which you want, compaired to what the customer wants. Surely you need to realise now people are leaving 00 Gauge and moving to N, EM, 0, G or even Gauge 1 as well as the various other scales too numerous to mention. Not everyone who has changed gauge or scale cares about 00 Gauge/4mm anymore and the fact that the magazine are so on-sided towards this scale is so unbelievable! I think the Poll Team are completely wrong and either the Poll needs scrapping and re-writing or it needs changing for a broader appeal of scales/gauges!
  15. Possibly already being done but can’t say who. Still in progress when I asked at Telford
  16. This was one of the reasons why 56101 only carried the Frank Hornby nameplates on one side. They were fitted I believe the weekend before the joint Model Rail/Hornby/Barrow Hill Live Event but there was an issue trying to fit them because of the closeness of internal equipment, wiring conduits and air pipes so it was only possible to fit one plate and I cannot remember if that was glued on or drilled? The second plate couldn't be fitted at the same height so the decision at the time was not to until after the event, but this never happened as the locomotive got sold on to Europhoenix and moved to Burton-Upon-Trent for modification a few months later.
  17. I don't know why I was told mine model was a Class 31/4 then? I have found the HJ paperwork which came with the model which even confirms this Maybe I was secretly hoping it was a 31/4 so I could do 31405 or 31454 - one of the Intercity or Intercity Mainline liveried examples.
  18. Can I just point out a couple of important things? The first thing is that the Class 58 58016 has not been at Barrow Hill since 15th December 2015 when it moved to UKRL Leicester. The other is when you visit just clarify with the staff where you can and can't go for taking pictures as when I used to volunteer there in the past you could only go in the Deltic Preservation Shed, Main Yard (yard as the come out of the main shed) and on the old Coaling Staith which is a grass hill between the two yards. You couldn't go in the Harry Needle sheds or Yard (to the left of the hill) or the shed which the Brighton Belle is being restored unless this is open to the public on a Gala Event. People have been known to wander around Harry Needle's yard and post pictures online, but this is a private yard and shed and I have been reliably informed that he doesn't take kindly to unauthorised visitors. On Gala events you can however take brakevan rides behind the Class 03 into this yard so it is possible to get pictures or if the signal box is open you can get some pictures from their with a good lens. On non working weekends the platforms are also used for stabling/storing of locomotives so don't forget to pop on to the platform before you leave. Also, the Speedwell Inn, Staverley is a good place to stop off for a drink - a regular haunt used by BH Volunteers.
  19. Is that not a vent in the picture of 56004 in post #19?
  20. So were all the 31/0's the rounded version (Skin head version) like the one at the NRM York? If I make sure that I used the PH Designs conversion kit and get hold of some ETH cables if I plan to do the class 31/4 then I should have a more accurate model?
  21. I have recently purchased an O Gauge Sound Chipped Heljan BR Blue Class 31 which is not numbered and has the headcode box with train reporting codes, which I have been told it maybe a Class 31/4? I would like to be able to confirm this before choosing a prototype to base it on as I don't want to assume it is a 31/4 when it could be a 31/0 or 31/1. Apart from the class 31's which had the rounded cab roof, and the rest have the headcode box blanked off with dominos is there any other way of telling a Class 31/0, 31/1 or 31/4 apart? Oh and I forgot to add that some got modified with the High Intensity Headlights. I am guessing the one model cannot be used for all three types of class 31? This will make a difference when choosing a 31/1 or 31/4 and whether I keep it BR Blue or change the livery. The era I hoping to model is 80's to early 90's. Any help with links to pictures will be most helpful. When looking online I could not see any other obvious differences but then that could just be my age! TIA John
  22. Were some fitted with the square high intensity headlight like 56301 whilst others had the round type? Also some of the headlights were recessed like 56031 whilst the standard I believe was a non recessed lighting like 56311 for example?
  23. Good blog. Unfortunately the pictures do not show the detailed mocquet seating in the Class 121/122 (I hope that I have spelt that correctly). .
  24. Thanks Brian for the correction. Also I didn’t know about the additional vents... you learn something new
