  1. This months Engine Shed includes decorated samples of 2002/3/7. https://uk.Hornby.com/community/blog-and-news/engine-shed/view-p2 Curiously Earl Marischal seems to be missing the smoke deflectors that were included in the engineering CADs, either they’ve been deleted or this is just and ‘07’ painted up as ‘02’. I personally lean towards the latter. Still these look very nice indeed.
  2. Also shouldn't 2007 have overhead warning stickers?
  3. Whilst I’m arbitrarily acquiring sound models, @McC I’ve got a ‘Defiant’ paid off with you as well, is there an extra charge to upgrade it to sound fitted?
  4. Yeah, can I keep it? Please? I’ll train it and feed it, I promise.
  5. This is all that’s on the end, nothing obvious to me. Also, my order at Rails was very much a last minute affair. So it’s not crossed wires as far as I know.
  6. Sorry, I misread your initial response, it wasn’t loose it was fully fitted, I took it off to get at the switches, when I saw there was no blanking plate, things went click. Weirdly, I don’t think this is a stuff up by Rails, there’s nothing on the itself to say that it’s sound fitted. I think someone at the factory genuinely put the wrong model in the wrong box.
  7. Is that not the thing with ‘Accuthrash’ printed on it? Or is that a blank?
  8. So ‘Loch Ell’ was dropped off by the postie curtesy of Rails of Sheffield. I saw the warning for the running switches and thought I’d just make sure, popped off the roof and… Have I been sent a sound version by accident, or do I just not know what a blanking plate looks like?
  9. The perennial problem when it comes to rail history, most of the sources aren't actually historical trained and are often just reporting what they heard or thought at the time. 'Chough O.S.Nock Chough'.
  10. I'm actually excited for the SCR Class 40. Its not a perfect model, but its better to go for it than wait around for Bachmann to announce an enormously expensive revision or for Accurascale to come out with one that I won't see until 2025. ScR
  11. Oh I imagine a good 90% of all the drawings out there were never intended to be much more than stepping stones, merely to see what it would look like, with no serious intent to pursue them beyond working out which ideas survived to the final design.
  12. It looks like a Star that ate another Star.
  13. After all that, the answer was a button that had been staring at me everyday for two whole years.
  14. Oh Nile, I could kiss you, you marvel, months thats been, months!
  15. If I may add my thrupence ha'penny, I think a big part of this is the wise choice to go with the pay-on-delivery model for pre-order, rather than the pay-now-delivery-later one. I always feel personally leery of giving over money for something that might not be available for years. Its not that I don't trust you Fran, its that as 2020 proved, best laid plans gang aft agley. Plus what happens if something happens on my end, or if I change my mind? What if the money is gone for good? Its so much easier to have a date to save for, rather than fretting about availability and checking for months on end. I do understand that as a small company Accurascale can't rely on future custom alone and not everyone who has pre-order will honour those orders. But I do feel much more relaxed knowing that should anything go horribly wrong I haven't damaged my savings too badly. ScR
  16. Well I’ve slipped and gone for the blue ones, what with Rapido doing Met 1, I’m almost tempted to start modelling London.
  17. Yes, but its very unlikely that a manufacture would deliberately alter a real photo, not merely because of how quickly they would be found out. So an image of the real think is far more trust worthy.
  18. The TT ones that are in-stock such as the A3s and A4s. There are distinct visual differences between them and their 00 gauge counterparts and I think customers should be aware of them.
  19. Apros of nothing, I really, really, really wish Hornby would replace the CGI 00 stock photo with actual pictures of the in-stock item, I hate making purchases on faith.
  20. I do enjoy how all class 50s look as if you've just said something mildly insulting to them.
  21. I had a twitter argument today (bad idea) with a guy who was seriously proposing over-head electrified motorways as an alternative to HS2. It really is incredible to me how some people are prepared to back any nonsense over a proven method of transport.
