  1. Station view Firstly your modelling is just great and my question is not trying to pick any fault. But this photograph reminded me of a question I have been meaning to ask for years but keep forgetting to do so. Why are the loading gauges shaped like an inverted W. I can understand the purpose of the central U but the only purpose for the other two Us to the side to my mind is for oversize loads that stick out the side. However I'm not convinced. Please put me out of my misery.
  2. How can you tell if it has top feed? Is it that pipe thingy that goes transverses the top of the boiler in about the middle of the barrel?

    Dry Run

This is a really great layout and concept. Looks like I can find a use for my Hornby GWR 4 wheel coaches. I especially like the figures. IMO most figures on most layouts look like Soviet workmen and women (the feet and hands look like Herman Munster's). The heads look like they are about one quarter of the body size. They look all disproportionate. I think you said they are OO white metal. Where did you get them?
  4. I always like that line in The Eagles song "Take it Easy" - "I was standing on a corner in Winslow Arizona". It has a real beat to it.
  5. Well done. You have captured the spirit of the time.
  6. You sure have done a lot in a short space of time, and, as well as that, it is of a very high quality.
  7. That 37 looks very well weathered. Was bought like that or did you do it? Either way it is a great job.
  8. You have done a great job especially on the weathering of your engines.
  9. Well done! Looking forward to more photographs.
  10. I really like the weathering on the old 2.6.0 engine. Did you do this yourself as well?
  11. Great effort at a worthwhile project.
  12. I had the opposite happen. I bought a fountain pen and immediately (I mean 10 seconds) after the sale the seller said he had sent it in the mail. My suspicions were aroused and when it didn't come in a week or so. I put a claim into Paypal. They paid with no questions asked. Anyway eight weeks later the pen arrived by sea mail. I honestly tried to give the money back but Paypal and the seller didn't want to know me. I tried for about two weeks and eventually gave up and figgured it made up for the book I had been dudded out of a couple of years earlier.
  13. Apart from the Chocs, I should have mentioned the fantastic modelling. Makes my efforts seem very puny.
  14. Are the Chocolate Eclairs a soon to be erected advertising hoarding??
  15. All I can say is, "Well Done!!"
  16. Great modeling and great photography.
  17. Well done? The furrows in the garden beds is a nice touch. What have you planted?
  18. I also will be keeping an eye on your project as I intend to incorporate a clay siding in my layout. You have done a good job with the tunnel entrance. Well done.
  19. Interesting layout there. I'll have to keep coming back to see how it is all progressing.
  20. Well done on all counts - trackwork, scenery, photography and engine weathering.
  21. The greenery looks very real. How did you manage to get that effect?
  22. Incidentally the town of Granchester (not actually shown in these pictures) was almost totally wiped out in the Jan 2011 floods.
  23. Where did you get/make this little cart? I would like one for my coal stage.
  24. I would be more worried that s/he (the one that withdrew the bid) has withdrawn his/her bid five times in the last six months. I have bought on ebay for about the last 10 years and have never had to withdraw a bid.
