Breaking News: Red Bull and Aston Martin are reportedly eyeing Carlos Sainz for the 2025 season.

    - Italian press suggests that if Sainz doesn't renew with Ferrari, Red Bull is open to replacing Checo Pérez, and Aston Martin is also interested.

    - Sauber (Audi in 2026) doesn't plan to keep Bottas and Zhou beyond 2024, and Andreas Seidl, who Carlos previously worked with at McLaren, would welcome Sainz to the team.

I get a long overdue payrise!

Jacob Rees Smug is the next Prime Minister. More likely than a payrise.

Gunther Steiner replaces Ben Sulayem as FIA President.

You forgot, = Haas leading Drivers and Constructers Championships after the first 3 Races.

Oh and Alonso asks to replace The Hulk as he has never had a Black and Red Race suit.

  5. Also would LH have the freedom to do his own thing, NOT WEAR Ferrari merch when arriving at the circuits, and party all around the world with his Dog by his side?

  6. O.K. So my question is this = If LH REALLY wanted to move, why would he announce it so early? It would make no sense, and deprive him of internal knowledge, and the emphasis would switch to GR if a championship was to be decided between the two of them. I really cant see any logic.

BUT, BUT BUT I was wrong when I said he SHOULD NOT leave McLaren.

I suspect this has been on the cards for years, with the sort of rivalry between cities that happens worldwide. I have never been to Spain, but infer from others that Barcelona does rather well in the tourist market, with some major attractions. Madrid wants to up its share.

I have been a regular attendee at both racing and testing at the Circuit de Catalunya since 1995. It is easy and relatively inexpensive to get to - for example a week in March for testing cost less for flights, hotels, car hire and tickets than a weekend ticket for the Silverstone GP weekend. It’s also a fantastic circuit for viewing with virtually unrestricted views of at least half of the circuit at any one time.

But F1 and the FIA have been desperate to take the race away from Barcelona for years with a campaign of last minute renewal of short term contracts and the removal of all testing in favour of Bahrain.

Add into the mix the animosity between the national government in Madrid with the regional government of Catalunya and today’s announcement comes as no surprise.

The circuit owners in Barcelona must be particularly miffed that after an expensive programme of circuit improvements, turn 10 hairpin, removal of the last corner chicane, completely rebuilt paddock, changes to turns 1,2 and 3, that they lose the race to a street circuit with a chicane before each of the straights.

I visited Barcelona City a few years  back, the week before the GP, and asked in two Sports shops for any info and any Shirts / merchandise, and all I was offered was Kikball shirts. No interest in F1 or any Motor Sport.

    Hi Mr P,

Just caught up on this, very glad you're ok. I came looking for you as I do miss your Friday videos.

Please don't give up on the 'Yard' I've learnt quite a lot from you including painting back scenes and weathering stock etc.

    All the best,

    Phil B.

Thanks Phil, I will be back with both pics and Videos, but at this moment in time I'm busy with the Band. I have bought some some new stuff, nothing major, but bits of interest maybe, so will need to show them soon, so watch this space. Thanks for posting, really appreciated.

  10. Looking excellent Ian, I thought I was getting a box of Mojo for Christmas, but all I got was ruddy Covid. Still one week on, and ran a clear test this evening so once the cough has gone, I hope to see you guys again. Keep the pics coming mate.
