After "finishing" my other 7mm layout Wilne Lane Yard
I decided to try and build a true micro consisting of only one point in the "tuning fork" style. Inspiration came from some photographs in an old MRJ showing an old mill yard in Newport Pagnell. Dimensions are 42 inches by 14.5 inches. Trackwork is also Peco O gauge, buildings are a mixture of Fair Price Models and scratchbuilt.
Photos show a sequence from beginning to where I am presently.

Hi Steve,
I think your ideas to re-use your late Dad's items is great and hope you manage to build something fitting.
I believe the station building is actually modelled on a SMJ railway one, possibly Byfield or similar. There were plans in an old Railway Modeller magazine in about 1968/69 from memory.
Alan.

Does anyone know if the Sydenham laser cut station shown last week is available as a kit?

I will be exhibiting Wilne Lane Yard at the Princes Risborough Exhibition this Saturday. Come and say hello if you are visiting.

I also think the line at the front adds more to the layout than the original plan.

Ray,
I am aware that Slater's do both in embossed plastic sheets:
S0434 4mm space planked sheets (planks are 4mm wide) and S0437 7mm scale corrugated sheet.

Ray,
I think lowering the building somewhat is the right thing to do. I also wonder if you would be better cladding the walls to give either a wood planked effect or corrugated iron to reflect the light railway status.

I picked one up from Magazine Heaven at Rushden Lakes on Thursday. Almost walked off empty handed when there was no copies with the rest of the model railway magazines on offer. I just decided to have a quick look at the "real" railways section on the other side of the store and spotted about half a dozen copies. The assistant seemed uninterested when I pointed out they were in the wrong section though.

Canute Road Quay is on the road again in a couple of weeks and is appearing on Saturday 20th August 2022 at the Silverfox DCC MRC exhibition being held at the Oakgrove School, Venturer Gate, Milton Keynes MK10 9JQ

It is good to be at exhibitions again, especially as many Model Railway Clubs/Societies have lost such valuable income from the lack of exhibitions during the pandemic, so if you are able to visit the show, and support the Silverfox DCC MRC, please drop by Canute Road Quay and say hello.
I thought it was an enjoyable show at a great venue with ample parking.

Hi James,
Some good progress. Can you advise where the window on the goods shed was from please?
Thanks.

What about a low (stone) embankment wall at the lower level with a slope of grass banking up from the top of that?
