Only just discovered this thread. I also remember the old layout at Slaters and have walked the route a couple of times. Thanks for sharing the build. -
A few more pics below. The Garage/Workshop shares more than a passing nod to Chuck Doan (Google him if you are not familiar with his superb modelling). The exit to the fiddleyard shows unfinished embankment and the coal yard is still to be completed.

"Back of a fag packet" layout sketch - not to scale though. The two headshunts are deliberately short to take just a tank loco and one wagon to make shunting the front siding awkward. The loco pushes 3 wagons in from the fiddle stick and then swops them with the 3 already in place. It's possible to have 2 wagons in either the front or rear factory siding.

2020 been a real wipe out from a music perspective. We played our last gig on March 7th and had a pretty full diary booked but all cancelled of course. We did manage one rehearsal though!

Thanks. Scenic area is 137cms x 52cms (54ins x 20.5ins). Fiddle stick is 84cms long (33ins).

This is my O Gauge Cameo layout that I have been slowly working on for the past couple of years - still much to do I am afraid. Updates will probably be sparse as I currently do not have much spare time. The "white" square in the first pic is where a builders yard premises will eventually stand. There are still fences, gates and general clutter to be added at some point.

Hi Rob, Another foamboard user here. I normally clad in plasticard and add an internal layer also to combat warping. I have also recently been using UHU por glue which is foam friendly. Alan.

Looking good Rob. I also use the building mock up methods. I like layouts where the locos and stock dive between buildings etc.
