  1. Hi all Lewis and I are delighted to announce Wolfstatt will be attending the National festival of railway modelling at the NEC November 23/24 2024 our official invite arrived yesterday. This now makes for a busy autumn for Wolfstatt with the Great British train show (Gaydon) only three weeks before and then out again next February to Glasgow. Craig.
  2. Thanks Phil, rest assured Andrew has received details in a different format with extra copy making a fuller article to promote the overall concept and reasons for the birth of C.O.E.R.S. Craig
  3. Full details have now been settled and the enclosed publicity poster produced. This poster has been forwarded to continental modeler and should soon be found on various social media sites. As previously mentioned should you require any further details please contact Mike Upton at the email address shown in post one. Craig Charity
  4. I pleased to advise this new event has now been christened, it is to be know from now onwards as THE CONVENTION OF EUROPEAN RAILWAY SOCIETIES. October 19/10/24 10am-4.30pm £5 admittance. (C.O.E.R.S. pronounced chorus) Craig.
  5. Paul, thanks for the input. I'll keep you updated on this. I'm waiting for the next 5 pairs to arrive once I have them I will get on and start experimenting.
  6. Many thanks for your kind words. The backscene was made for the layout by a Austrian gentleman by the name of Andreas Dietrich. Many emails passed between us as I furnished him with sizes and photo's of the layout, he then set about creating the back scene from his stock photo's made to fit the layout exactly. I was given his details from a Austrian modeller after I made a similar enquiry to him as yours above. I googled his name and sent a email which received a positive response. Wolfstatts was produced a few years back and I can't find his email at the moment, please get back if you can't find him and I'll have a good look. Craig
  7. In answer to a couple of your questions. Venue has large free carparking, admittance this year has been set at £5 per person, Continental modeller is up to speed and details will be publicised over the next few months. Trains on this occasion no, the nearest station is Loughborough which is a 30 minuet bus ride service X16 bus stop outside venue front door. Thringstone can also be reached from Nottingham,Derby and Leicester stations via East midlands airport by using the airport skylink service, again bus stops at the front door. This is very much a trial event should it prove successful then a more permanent venue is envisaged with Burton on Trent town hall being mooted at this stage. There will be no return of the globalrail badge, this event is being launched as a new venture and will have it's own identity. The name chosen will be announced in the next couple of weeks once all societies have been informed and agreed. Many thanks for your positive comments. if you require further detailed info please contact Mike Upton at the address shown on the first post. Craig Charity Austrian Railway group member.
  8. A couple more jobs have seen progress in the last couple of weeks, the first is the installation of a altitude marker on the station building and the second is our innofreight woodchip containers now have sawdust loads added, this rake is still well short of it's full lenth but is seen running on the layout as a trip working for the time being.
  9. A little more progress over the last few days. The OHLE power frame masts and cross wire's have been almost completed.

  11. They do look good, I'll investigate further. This is going to be one of those jobs done over a period of time. Summer evenings on the patio with a beer springs to mind.
  12. Paul, it's laborious to contemplate but having looked at yours it would be a lot of painting to make the 3D printed logs look convincing real wood is hard to fake. The jury is out.
  13. Not thinking straight. I ment 3D printed logs not laser cut.
  14. Sud-Express at Cand M, I was very pleased a couple of weeks back when Mike posted he had been appointed Uk stockist for this lovely range. A quick email was sent of simply saying Log carriers please. Mike replied almost by return advising they would be in the first delivery due any day. I ordered 10 pairs in total with the first 5 arriving a few days later the remainder will follow once Mike has them. They are lovely models and will make a very nice addition to the Wolfstatt roster. It's a massive amount of logs to cut so I intend exploring the possibility of having the loads laser cut. I also rather fancy a Eurodual they look superb I just need to wait for a more appropriate livery to be released. There's also some interesting items on Sud-Expresses' new release programme which have taken my eye. Mike is to be congratulated for taking this range on, from my point of view it's great to buy these items without the faff of buying from Europe. ( no connection just a happy customer)
  15. And there very good at it, whilst not to everyone's budget but quality all the way. long may they continue to prosper.
  16. Neil don't be to disapointed, they are excellent models which perform well. See my earlier comments on this thread for my full views. craig
  17. Hi Neil. I have a MRCE Vectron from Piko's Expert range and can confirm cab side door handles are moulded on. Craig.
  18. Stephan. Thanks for the input re track layout etc. I am working on the station details over the winter and have covered most points you raise except the bus stop which has the signs which came with the kit. I just need a altitude marker for the station building. Telephone box is on the radar but with postage costs I'm waiting until I can include it with a friends order.
  19. Thanks for your comments about the viaduct, coming from you who Knowe's the area well is indeed much appreciated. All signals are from Krois.
  20. Mike we have spoken many times on the phone I will look forward to finally meeting you in person. Craig
  21. Hi Gerhard, many thanks for your notes. The viaduct on Wolfstatt is based on Semmering viaducts however it wasn't easy to get the right feel of the solid structures. The viadut on the layout was the third attempt the whole process taking almost a year to complete. Craig.
  22. Hi Nick The Whole layout operates bi- directional which is prototypical on most main lines in Austria. Ally Pally was our first exhibition and it took a while to get bi-directional running smoothly. By Sunday our confidence had grown enough to run bi-directional passenger traffic. A corner stone of Wolfstatts grand plan always was to operate bi-directional. Whilst not yet operational signalling for full bi-directional running is in place. In general triple lines is a normal feature in Austiran stations. Thanks for your interest. Craig
  23. Claude I look forward to seeing you down the slope somewhere.
  24. This photo was taken in 2021 in our village hall, its imposable to set the layout up at home unless the weather is good outside. This was a red letter day for Wolfstatt as it was the very first time the whole layout was set up and fully operational. We invited friends family and Austrian railway group members along for the day. Whilst scenically incomplete wolfstatt performed far better than we had dare hoped for. To see trains complete a full circuit for the fist time after 8 years work was a most satisfying moment. I'm the guy at the back in the checked shirt (looking like my daughter in law is telling me off)
  25. Gentlemen many thanks, Mike we are in Glasgow next February and Stockton later in the year, I know the shop makes it difficult though. Our only commitment this year at present is Gaydon October 26/27 unless something comes in before hand or indeed after.
