  1. Hello Glad you liked the article, the game of 'what if' is such good fun. Cheers George
  2. Hello The new stock rake is now complete and finished, also a couple of new vehicles to add to an existing train. See them at Kendal in a fortnight's time. Cheers George
  3. Hello You can play the 'game of what if' with any number of closed lines. We have done it with 'Brixworth Station' as well as Towcester. Fenchurch St Peter is also a slightly modified original though not brough up to a later date. You need to have a reasonable reason for doing it and also plausible means to operate in a later guise. Glad you liked it and I wish you well with your ideas. Cheers George
  4. Hello As the old and very careworn saying goes, 'We're all in this together'. Cheers George
  5. Hello Just a couple of wierdoswho wandered into John's garage while the photo-shoot was going on Steve. We soon got rid of them. Glad you liked it; we did. Cheers George
  6. Hello Railway Modeller is now out and the layout article looks good with some fine pictures by Paul Bason. Just over two weeks to go to the show at Kendal. Hope the weather is OK in the North country. Cheers George
  7. Hello The windscreen wipers are on the bottome of the screen when parked on a roadtrain. Also you don't need sidebars on a trailer till the late 80s if you were running at 32tons but you would from the mid 80s if running at 38tons. Also you would need 5 axles for the latter; either 3 on the tractor and 2 on the trailer or vice versa. I put a hiab on a log trailer on a layout about 20 years ago. The truck and trailer were Keil-craft, now Knightwing, so were 1/87 but the Hiab type log crane was HO but they looked alright and nobody ever complained about it. Nice Work by the way. Cheers George
  8. Hello On behalf of the Wrecking Crew I would like to wish every-one a Happy Christmas and a reasonable New Year. We will start to announce our list of exhibitors in the New Year as well. Cheers George
  9. Hello Looks like a very bad attack of Photo-shop and that's just the loco. I will ask our technical department to look into it. Cheers George
  10. Hello I'm looking forward to it as well Steve. Yes John did build quite a lot of it and yes he soeas get a mention as does Richard and a few others as well. The layout pictures are by the inestimable Paul Bason who once again has done us proud. Cheers George
  11. Hello Towcester will be appearing at Kendal MRC exhibition on January 26/27 2019. It will also feature in the February, (due out in January), edition of Railway Modeller. This is the first magazine article to feature the extension board. Nothing else has changed much as regards the l;ayout though there are a couple of new trains running now and also another DMU features since the layout was first built. We look forward to seeing you then, please say hello. Cheers George
  12. Hello Thank-you for the link , I have now cancelled the order and gone elsewhere. Cheers George
  13. Hello Still no sign of the earlier version from Hattons as yet. Seems strange to me that one of the largest dealers in the country has not received them but a lot of the smaller retailers have had them for a couple of weeks now. But then patience is a virtue so I will have to wait. Cheers George
  14. Hello Oh go on Mick; you were on the list anyway. And yes Clive we can always do with a supply of cheap labour, especially post Brexit. Cheers George
  15. Hello On behalf of John, Paul and myself I would like to thank Mick, John and the rest of Blackburn club for inviting us to the show and giving us such an enjoyable weekend. This was our last show of the year and my first one since May so it was good to have a play on Fenchurch St Peter. Time now to complete our new layout Framplington before heading to Kendal in January with Towcester. Cheers George
  16. Hello A little bounce to keep it in the public eye Cheers George

  19. Hello After it's recent visit to East Anglia Fenchurch St Peter will be heding north To the Blackburn Model Railway Exhibition on November 10/11th. For the first time in nearly six months I shall be out with the layout, or any other layout for that matter and I am very much looking forward to operating our trainset. Any-one on here who is going to the show please say hello. As well as myself and the lovely John Norton we shall be joined by our star celebrity guest operator. See you there. Cheers George orge
  20. Hello We are looking forward to our visit with Fenchurch St Peter Mick. This will be our last show this year so we hope all goes as well as ever. Cheers George
  21. Hello Glad you enjoyed the layout, as you were no doubt informed I wasn't there due to health issues, which are now slowly improving. Any problems were probably down to the operators. I hope to be back at the controls in November when the layout makes it's final appearance this year at Blackburn. Sorry to have missed you but hopefully we can catch up somewhere in the future. Cheers George
  22. Hello Fenchurch St Peter will be appearing at Sudbury Model Rail exhibition tomorrow, October 6th. Sadly, due to my continued ill health I will not be there but the layout will be in the more than capable hands of it's co-owners John Norton and Richard Coleman. If you see them say hello. cheers George
