  1. Hi Paul,

I have just had your class 57 sound file uploaded onto a Zimo decoder by Digitrains and fitted it today. Now the information sheet I have been sent (ZS57ASL Class 57 Active Drive Speed Lock V18.10) would appear to have some discrepancies with what is actually happening.

Engine start up claims that  activating F14 prior to start-up will start the BIS sound playing followed by the pump which will continue for as long as F14 is active. When F14 is disengaged the pump sound is joined by the pre-start warning alarm, a series of four loud beeps.

When I disengage F14, nothing happens at all.

It goes on to say that Engaging F7 immediately after F1 will result in engine speeding up as  on prototype in order to charge air tanks.

On mine it has no effect. F7 is just listed as Speed lock in the Function List. There is no reference to engine speed-up for any function. However, in reality, when I engage F6 which is engine idle, it actually results in engine speed-up.

I have also noted that on the You Tube vid on the Digitrains site, for the Class 57, the horn is two-tone. On mine, when activating F3 'horn', it plays a high-low-high sequence.

Now I don't know if there has been an updated version and I have the wrong instructions, or whether the wrong instructions have been cut and pasted under the Class 57 header, or, indeed, if the wrong sound file could have been loaded (I must confess to not knowing what a class 57 particularly sounds like). Sorry to trouble you, but any light you can shed would be much appreciated.

    Kindest Regards

    Steve

      Hi Steve,

I do not work for Digitrains, but Jeremy is a friend of mine.

I passed responsibility for the Class 57 project to Digitrains over 4 years ago and I've had nothing further to do with it since. That version did not have Speed Lock.

I know that Jeremy has updated various sound projects to include Speed Lock amongst other improvements, but I've no idea if that includes Class 57, sorry.

Chances are that there is a mismatch between the instructions and the sound project loaded, but it will be better to contact Jeremy as he will have all the info to hand.

If speedlock is not activated in your decoder, it can be added with CV356. The value to enter will be the F key you wish to use as the Speed Lock key.

Sorry I can't help in more detail.

      Best regards,

      Paul

      Hi Paul,

That's fine, much obliged. I will be getting in touch with them tomorrow. Was just after a bit of background info in case I was missing something.

      Best wishes

      Steve
