Time has caught up with you all unfortunately like it is everyone hope you enjoy running it at home the invites to groups is a great idea this will give peolple ideas for the future .Thanks for the layout it is truly a brilliant piece of work and will give you all a great deal of pleasure for a long time.

  4. When you think how many years we used these coaches day in day out and thought nothing of it but now people have become so sheltered and basically ueselless they cant think for themselves and have allowed people who should know better. It seems as though the organisations who carry out these witch hunts are representing groups who are totally not in the real world and are constantly looking to make trouble for anyone .Surely people are able to be safe and be responsible but we are living in real nanny state .
  5. You need an idle looking workman lurking in the background .
  6. You have built a very fine layout this last set of photos show some different views and very high quality buildings all in all you have achieved a fantastic layout thanks for your hard work. Chris
  7. See you at Aylesbury on Sunday am always ma good show I started it many years ago glad its still good to visit.
  8. Just seen a topic on Nextdoor saying that a station for Aylesbury is being considered on Hs2 cant see how this could happen as a station will delay the overal timing anyone heard about this ?
  9. All that will happen is new rolling stock and more passengers as future policy will force many people to stop using cars and turn to public transport this will happen in the next twenty years ,so make the most of driving your cars.
  10. I worked for Post Officce Telephones in the early sixties ,lots of mud .horrible lorries, clothing not much cop, but we had a good many fun adventures .We used do three days trenching and then went rabbiting with some of the lads.We always left at least four chaps working on site in case the inspector appeared. The rabbits were shared out amongst those on site as always about twenty were captured and on a good day thirty. Happy days not like now,
  11. Market Garden could have been a success if more detail had been observed from further to Arnhem information that came from the resistance plus of course the landing grounds should have been moved .I feel that to much was hurried without taking into account the enemy ,I had a long talk a good few years ago when on a visit to the Netherlands were I stayed with a lovely familyhem they were children near to Arnhem . They wre pleased that the British attemptehen fighting with resistanced the battle but afterwards the famine was terrible and no help came from the occupiers as they were having a bad time as well .The faces were pictures of joy when describing the drops of food the Germans did not interfere with them ,but they were also sad thinking of friends who lost thier lives when fighting with the resistance. Thanks to everyone who has cotributed to this suibject I feel strongly as a meber of my family did not make it out. Thanks
  12. Winats Pass is a hell of a climb, used go there in the sixties and seventies to ride cycling hill climb races up it always middle of field of 120 used to race these events all over the country but enjoyed the northern ones best.Sometimes we drove around Mam Tor nice views but occasionaly they were working there on rebuilding it overall its a very nice part of the world.
  13. Glad you are feeling better it will do you the world of good to work on the layout ,but just run trains for now you got plenty of time to work when you are fully recovered . Keep well Chris

  20. Went to Wendover today and after a long time went via Butlers Cross as we arrived into Wendover you come to left hand bend and traffic lights ,on the right there is a very big removal of the embankment and it is now a curved area,On the left you can see clearly the road that will take you around the houses but I cannot see the area where it will come out in Wendover this looks ready to use . But where the road will start has not been made ready for connection to the Butlers Cross road this will not take long to do the work. The line where it goes alongside the bypass is being readied for the next level of work. I dont think working on HS2 would be for me looking at all the mud !!!

  22. Agree with you but I can rember the government of the day pushed the decion to open into the dustbin many many people protested about the decision but were ignored as is the norm today.I can see rail investment halting after the next election as rail will be forgotten as other projects take over with billions wasted and no value to the people poloticians have shown with HS2 that they are not to be trusted,
  23. Like the story line and the layout looks really good shall followmthis.
