On 3rd July 1938, Mallard powered its way into the history books, and became an icon for speed, style and steam. With it on that occasion, and measuring every inch of the journey, was the LNER Dynamometer Car, a mobile test bed for assessing locomotive performance, speed and efficiency. Over the decades, many models have been made to celebrate the classic A4 locomotive, but only now has the Dynamometer Car joined the loco in model form – replicating the fastest steam-hauled railway carriage in existence today, and like the loco, part of the National Collection. Thank-you for posting your views on APC and the concerning issues. I appreciate this can be upsetting. The logistic provider has been working has worked with our customer addressing individual problems with some success, however on this isolated incident there are some issues. Due to the high value of the models APC are required to deliver to the recipient with a signature or at the depot. Failing that, arrangements can be made via a neighbour signature who in some cases can also can be out. As we do not know your customer name can you kindly contact us tomorrow on our telephone so we can discuss the matter further and help resolve the issue further. - 01904 685780. All of our courier company’s APC, Royal Mail and Parcelforce have the same arranges for non-delivery planning to redeliver later or alternatively to collect from the depot. We are happy to announce two exciting new additions to the National Collection in Miniature Range. In conjunction with Bachmann we are re-launching our Deltic Model in two exciting liveries the West Coast Mainline Version and the East Coast Mainline Version. Built in 1955, Deltic was made to be a sales tool for rail use of the Napier Deltic power unit, which had been developed for marine use. English Electric in Preston constructed the locomotive with an eye towards the export market, and Deltic’s stylish striping and striking dummy headlight hint to Transatlantic trade which never came. The name comes from the Greek letter delta, and refers to the shape of the diesel engine itself. Tested until 1961, by which time it had accumulated 450,000 miles, it has been part of the Science Museum collection since then. The locomotive is finished in WCML Livery condition with the addition of 2 Headboards, for The Merseyside Express and The Shamrock. The locomotive is also finished in ECML Livery condition with the addition of 2 Headboards, for The Northumbrian and The White Rose. Only 512 of each have been produced and they are bound to be popular models, so don't miss out on your chance to add them to your collection.
