Does anyone every get a response from Locomotion? I have been calling them for 3 days and the message says they are open from 10am leave a message (I call and do after 10am) but no response still! I'm starting to sound like one of my customers moaning I know but 3 days and 5 messages is a bit silly...
Sorry we have missed your call, understandably we have been packing up the class 66 model for dispatch on a separate site so I have been unable to answer the phone straight away. However an answer phone message is available and I'm currently working through the messages and ringing people back. Apologies for this and if I have not been in touch by Friday dinner time please give me a ring.

Well its now 20th December and I STILL HAVENT HAD DELIVERY.
Utterly ridculous.
APC said they would return the parcel to Locomotion on 7th December, yet yesterday they have contacted me to see where/when I want it delivered to, they are an inept shambles of a company. Had they told me on the 7th they could deliver to another address then I could have arranged a delivery to work, now with the the Christmas shutdown looming that option is off the cards.
Locomotion agreed a few weeks ago that APC could deliver to a neighbour, guess what - APC tried to deliver to me but didnt try the neighbours, and then said they had made too many failed deliveries and would now return the parcel to Locomotion. Yet they havent returned to Locomotion.
All through this thread neighbours are taking delivery, but APC are inconsistent in their policies. All the depot advised that as they could only deliver to me and could not specify a time between 08.00 & 16.00 was for me to take a day off work to recieve the parcel. Its 2017, we are in the age of online shopping, who takes a days leave to have a parcel delivered.
Poor service all round. Locomotion should have dealt with the courier and dispatched a replacement to me as soon as APC couldnt deliver.
Thank-you for posting your views on APC and the concerning issues. I appreciate this can be upsetting.
The logistic provider has been working has worked with our customer addressing individual problems with some success, however on this isolated incident there are some issues.
Due to the high value of the models APC are required to deliver to the recipient with a signature or at the depot. Failing that, arrangements can be made via a neighbour signature who in some cases can also can be out.
As we do not know your customer name can you kindly contact us tomorrow on our telephone so we can discuss the matter further and help resolve the issue further. - 01904 685780.
We are keen to pass on your comments to APC and look for improvement for future model deliveries.

Mine arrived late morning, cardboard box had slight crumple marks - alarm bells ringing! Outer Hornby packaging fine but clear plastic packaging shattered, loco completely dead also noticed whistle was missing so packed it back up to send back. Packaging from Locomotion very poor, just a single bit of bubble wrap so very loose in the cardboard box. Not happy!
We are very sorry that this has occurred, please contact us so we can arrange a replacement. Hope this has not put you off ordering with us again, and we have passed on your comments to our courier company.

Doubt it.
I had a card through the door from APC saying tried to deliver. Have spoken to APC to try to rearrange delivery - they will only deliver between 08.00 & 16.00 M-F, will not give a specific time for delivery, will not deliver to a neighbour as it has to be signed for, will not deliver to a different address (APC must be cheap because they certainly arent good). They suggested I go to the depot to pick up, thats miles away and why should I waste my time and petrol going to collect something I paid to be delivered. Even more annoying was the table full of models at Warley, could have got one there, be enjoying it now, and saved the £8.50 delivery charge.
Really not sure how Ill get my model now.
Not happy to say the least.

All of our courier company’s APC, Royal Mail and Parcelforce have the same arranges for non-delivery planning to redeliver later or alternatively to collect from the depot.
I will pass on your concern to them, so they are aware.

We are happy to announce two exciting new additions to the National Collection in Miniature Range.
In conjunction with Bachmann we are re-launching our Deltic Model in two exciting liveries the West Coast Mainline Version and the East Coast Mainline Version.
Built in 1955, Deltic was made to be a sales tool for rail use of the Napier Deltic power unit, which had been developed for marine use. English Electric in Preston constructed the locomotive with an eye towards the export market, and Deltic’s stylish striping and striking dummy headlight hint to Transatlantic trade which never came.
The name comes from the Greek letter delta, and refers to the shape of the diesel engine itself. Tested until 1961, by which time it had accumulated 450,000 miles, it has been part of the Science Museum collection since then.
The locomotive is finished in WCML Livery condition with the addition of 2 Headboards, for The Merseyside Express and The Shamrock.
The locomotive is also finished in ECML Livery condition with the addition of 2 Headboards, for The Northumbrian and The White Rose.
Only 512 of each have been produced and they are bound to be popular models, so don't miss out on your chance to add them to your collection.

Has anyone else been having difficulty today getting through to Locomotion to order a Duchess of Hamilton? I’ve been trying for about an hour and a half now and I still can’t get through to anyone.
I know they most likely are busy with taking orders but after a dozen phone calls and leaving messages, you’d think I’d be able to get through. Being in Canada isn’t helping either as it’s now past 3am! And I don’t even want to think what the long distance charges must be by now... I just hope I can get one before they are all gone!

We are happy to announce an exciting new addition to the National Collection in Miniature Range.
In conjunction with Hornby we are producing LMS Princess Coronation Class 4-6-2 No.46229 'Duchess of Hamilton'.
The LMS Princess Coronations were the West Coast's equivalent of the LNER A4s, with the streamlined engines painted in striking blue and silver livery to haul the Coronation Scot service from London to Scotland.
Over time the streamlined engines in the class lost their casing to match the locos that had been built without the casing. 'Duchess of Hamilton' was constructed with streamlined casing in 1938, and lost the casing during a works overhaul in December 1947.
In conjunction with Hornby we have produced No.46229 'Duchess of Hamilton' of the National Collection.
The locomotive is finished in BR Lined Maroon with a gloss finish. Only 250 have been produced and it is bound to be a popular model, so don't miss out on your chance to add it to your collection.

“The Hornby Q1 has been absent now for many years. Unfortunately some of the tooling options which Hornby had for the Q1 have now been lost or damaged and so we were faced with a minor compromise if we were to commission the NRM Q1 in its current SR livery. One option which it is not now possible to produce because the tooling was lost, is the alternative body without the washout plug holes. The same thing applies to the smokebox door. Only one is currently available.
As we have previously said, the smokebox door and reinforcing ring are correct for the period from introduction in 1942 in SR service until fairly late in its BR life. Our works records in Search Engine also show that it acquired the mechanical lubricator in SR ownership, so that is correct too for the SR in service period.
But it is of course, in preservation, now in the SR livery again, by which time it had acquired the washout plug holes and the smokebox door with a slightly smaller ring. We felt that producing the NRM model as we have was a reasonable compromise to allow customers to choose between in service or preserved for their own application with just a single minor point of difference, hardly noticeable in its preserved sate
This is an important locomotive, currently on display in the NRM, with a real story to tell and we felt it better to produce as we have, than not produce it at all. We hope we have been able to satisfy the vast majority of our customers with the choice we made from those available. We understand that customers have a choice of whether to purchase or not if they do not like a detail compromise, but the 100% accurate 4 mm model is a rare thing indeed, particularly when mass produced and especially at this current price. Further, even minor, tooling options at this stage will significantly increase the price."

SMOKEBOX DOOR - WHY - wrong again! This C1 is clearly supposed to be 'as preserved' with its lubricator linkage and washout plugs, yet has the early type smokebox door with reinforcing ring around the locks. Can Locomotion Models explain why this is? If I purchase the model (which I would like to, and abandon my plan to renumber R3011 to 33001), will there be a mechanism to obtain the correct type of door?
Thank you for your comments regarding the Q1 smoke box. The model was not intended to represent the Q1’s preserved state, as it is in the NRM, but as it ran in service on the SR from late 1942 until nationalisation in 1948. The smokebox door and reinforcing ring is therefore correct for that period. As with many of the National Collection in Miniature models we vary them between preserved and in service condition, as we have done many times with models like Deltic and the Atlantic to mention just two. Available closest detail options often dictate the choice we make, especially when we have not commissioned a model exclusively for ourselves and restricted tooling options exist.

The LMS Black Five is a versatile mixed traffic design, which was seen widely across all regions of Britain's railways. It is a popular class of locomotive with 18 examples preserved in the UK, including No.5000.
In conjunction with Hornby we have produced Black Five No.5000 of the National Collection. No.5000 was the first of the production build from Crewe Works, but not the first to enter service. This was No.5020, which Vulcan Foundry managed to construct earlier.

2018 NCiM Mallard and Dynamometer Car 80th Anniversary Set
in Locomotion Models

On 3rd July 1938, Mallard powered its way into the history books, and became an icon for speed, style and steam. With it on that occasion, and measuring every inch of the journey, was the LNER Dynamometer Car, a mobile test bed for assessing locomotive performance, speed and efficiency. Over the decades, many models have been made to celebrate the classic A4 locomotive, but only now has the Dynamometer Car joined the loco in model form – replicating the fastest steam-hauled railway carriage in existence today, and like the loco, part of the National Collection.
