I hope that the idea of DC PSUs won't be dropped as I thought that this would be an excellent and cost effective way for a DCC Sound O gauge shunting plank. Everything on hold at the moment as my chosen mobile is Android.

The 1A and 1.5A wall warts and the 3A PSU would be interesting.

Although if you have a power bank fitted it will me more like turn it off, wait, wait, wait, wait and turn it on again.

That sounds like the 4A PSU. In the launch video SK states that the 1A 1.2A and the 4A "transformers" can be used.

Sorry, still thinking/planning. If this cable connects the wall-wart to the track. What happens if there is a short. Does the PSU have over current protection circuit?

On the 18 pin decoder pins 7 and 16 are the speaker output, it is likely that these pins will be routed to the internal speaker from the loco pcb and the speaker socket on the decoder.

Regarding R7324 "HM7020: 15V Power Supply Adapter", is this just a straight through cable with the correct connectors or is there some circuitry built in.

There can be more than one hex value that corresponds to HM7000_. So they may display the same but have different hardware addresses.

And some A60/A62 stock.
