  1. So this week, KR Models have committed the cardinal sin of maximising their one-off tooling by incorporating fictious liveries, and then using a cigarette card (which is a close match to the rendering above) as a reference for the livery: I don't like to entirely defend model rail companies as none of them are perfect, but I can understand why KR don't use RM web as a tool for research, because in the last 24 hours, Big Bertha would have been converted into a Class 37
  2. I'm interested in one of these, and think it looks like a great model, when it finally arrives and unboxed for it's photoshoot, could you take a picture of the cab detail?
  3. I really don't get the argument that the sales of steam is reducing (or will reduce in the future) to such a level that Hornby are risking their business by announcing a newly tooled steam loco or two in January. Just because Accurascale and Bachmann haven't announced anything completely new for steam modellers for a couple of years doesn't mean that the industry is shifting completely. Rapido have announced umpteen steam locomotives since 2020, and they seem to be going strong and only announced one diesel which the order book isn't even open yet. If your projection is correct, then you better tell them at the next convention that they should scrap any steam projects and start making class 20s, 25s, 55s etc While Hornby have made some clangers in the past few years, and their business choices are at the moment poor, I don't see any proof that steam models will soon be rarer than a dodo's egg. Does anyone remember the Hush Hush from last year that was virtually sold out even though 99% of the general public never saw it! Surely there is a market for both steam and diesel? Just because two companies are not doing steam at the moment doesn't mean it will be obsolete in a few years. Just wait for Accurascale and Bachmann to announce a load of steam locomotives next year and there will be a post that Dapol and Heljan will be struggling with business due to focussing on diesels instead of steam...
  4. I'll also contribute to the lack of response from KR Models. I asked if they could change the delivery address as I would be out of the country when the model was due to be delivered. After receiving the tracking information from Canada Post and Royal Mail, I then saw the model had been delivered to an address in Chelmsford. I contacted KR Models immediately, and have repeatedly done for the past 3 weeks, either by email or Facebook messenger, and have not received a response to any of my queries. I want to point out that the alternative address I gave them was no where near Chelmsford, and kind of at a loss as to what to do. I really wanted the model, despite the detail issues, as it was a one-off, but it would seem I'll have to speak to either Keith or Michael in person at Warley...
  5. Novice question, but did the SECR Liveried D1 Classes have grey running boards? I fear I might reignite a previous discussion (specifically the Hornby Clans and the Green Running boards...)
  6. Hi all, Novice question regarding the preserved J27 (65894) - did it ever carry the L&NER Red Lining livery in its working career, as per the Oxford Rail model? I gather some of the boiler detail would not be accurate (it is Oxford Rail), but I'm more generally concerned about the livery.
