I bank with Lloyds and I have to approve online purchases, other than Amazon or Paypal. Before Christmas I had a message to approve a purchase for a few Euros, as it wasn't me, I rejected it. It did come back to bite me, when I tried to book a couple of hotels, using that card, as the transactions failed. I phoned the bank to find out why and they told me that because I had rejected the fraudulent transaction, they had put a stop on it, for internet purchases. I haven't tried to use it since the embargo was lifted.

Many thanks John, just what I needed. It has saved me from making an enormous faux par, the drawing in the bible shows 12 planks for the sides and the photo shows only 10. Which makes a difference to how the end looks.

That looks like it might be a foot step, as it's black, it could be from a buffer beam.

The missing bit could be the motion bracket. I would disconnect the motor and the tender, put a meter to the motor wires and see if you get a circuit, if no, reconnect the tender and repeat the test, if you still don't get a circuit, you don't have a short. Next, connect the meter to one of the motor wires and connect to one of the pickups, do you have a circuit? No, try the other side pickups. Still no! Repeat for the other motor wire. If you're not getting circuits, then the wires have a break in one or the other or both. Whilst the motor is out, put power to it. You will now know where the problem lies, if any.

A great photo, thanks. The devil is in the detail, the position of the windows relative to the planking and also that of the hatch. The planking on the AA9 is slightly different to that of the AA6. I'm also looking at doing the AA6, so that photo is really useful.

In some places every few hundred yards, I have travelled most of the major routes in the states and sometimes the loco horn seems to go on for ages, especially near large towns, day or night. Rob, would a thin coat of PVA, seal the card? You would probably need to preform the card and coat both sides. It might be worth doing a small piece, as an experiment.

You could take a series of overlapping photos and send them to id backscenes, I would aim at a 25% overlap as a minimum, they will combined them together and produce a print around 8 or 10 foot long for around £16. Sorry I can't give a link but googling should give you the company website. I used a medium resolution setting on my camera and they removed some of the unwanted rubbish for me.

MK 1s on the WHR being involved in a crash, I would hope was very low, being single line and lowish speeds. Whether they would be allowed to operate between Carnforth and the start of the single line in Scotland would be a different matter.
