  1. Hello, In case anyone who is interested and may be unaware of my 3d printing modelling development thread here, I have several items that are available on my Shapeways shop. Specialising in ex-GNR, ex-LNER & ex-L&YR prototypes in the British Railways-era. My models are generally prototypes that could be found in the West Riding of Yorkshire in the 1950s but would also be suitable for some other areas. The models are 'bodyline' kits designed to fit on OO ready-to-run chassis. Some modelling and 3rd party items will be required to obtain a finished result! The AjModels shop can be found here: https://www.shapeways.com/shops/ajmodels Currently available are: Ivatt N1 for Airfix/Mainline/Hornby N2 chassis (several detail variations are available). L&YR Aspinall Class 27 (aka A Class) for Bachmann C Class chassis Full instructions and further details can be found on my blogsite here: https://ajmodels.wordpress.com/ivatt-n1-instructions/ I will continue with the other thread for development news whilst this one will be for any new product announcements. Feel free to ask any questions on either thread or PM me. Thanks for your time.
  2. An ongoing project of mine has been the creation of an Ivatt N1 for my West Riding layout. The model has been created in AutoCAD purely because it's what I use in the day job and so involved only a small learning curve into some of the more obscure 3d techniques. It's designed to fit a Hornby/Dapol/Airfix N2 chassis and there are therefore some compromises. When I started I designed for FUD but reported quality problems with this and the price put me off and I re-designed for i-materialise Prime Grey after seeing some excellent models created with it on RMWeb. The chosen N1 is no 69474, a West Riding allocated loco all it's life and one that therefore never had condensing gear. Additional detail, such as handrails, pipework, steps and coupling hooks, will be added later and holes or slots have been created in the model to place and hold these items more easily. The lumps on top of the bunker are sacrificial and are intended to facilitate placement of the coal rails. I suspect I may be pushing it a little with some of the smaller details but we shall see as the finished model has now been sent to i-materialise for printing. Gulp.
