  1. After a recent trip to Didcot I spotted something else that I need to make. This time it is for the layout rather than rolling stock and it needs to be installed before too much of the track is detailed. I've seen someone else make this size of feature work in 2mm scale already and I'm hoping that the LEDs I've ordered will be small enough to fit inside the model, because I'll be disappointed if I cannot make it light up. If not then this will possibly die a death. If so then it will still be a trial to make this well. All will be revealed if progress can be made but can you guess what it is yet?
  2. I've inadvertently damaged a PECO Streamline SL-88 as shown here, I'll not go into the gory details. The spring mounting is broken beyond recovery and as I've ballasted it firmly in place it raises my question of how to best insert a replacement. The thought of ripping up 60-80cm of laid ballasted track on one side to fit the new point does not enthrall me so I was wondering if a more localised solution might be viable as both ends are firmly locked in place. Could I cut out the point at the track joins with my Dremel, insert new point accurately in place then re-establish electrical connections by careful soldering at sides? This is not a high profile location being at back of layout so have some latitude with the visual aspects. Thoughts, advice etc will be appreciated, Colin
  3. Hi, I'm trying to wire a DCCconcepts Cobalt-S switch to a Cobalt Digital (NOT ipDigital) point motor. I don't want DCC control for the point motor (long story - newbie mistake basically). I have a separate 9v power bus (Cobalt PSU2+) for my point motors and other accessories. I just want to use the Cobalt-S to switch the point. I've tried understanding the DCCconcepts website and I'm afraid I'm obviously a bit of a dolt! But..... I just can't get this to work. Can someone point his newbie in the right direction. What cables do I take from the switch, to where on the motor? A diagram would be great, a step by step would be even better. Help. Cheers, Paul
  4. Hi, I am new to all this so some "easy" help would be helpful please. I have a Dynamis Ultima Controller and several DCC Concepts iPDigitial Point Motors. Before I install them to my layout, I want to programme them and test them so I set up a service track and connect point 1 to one track and point 2 to the other track and tried to read / and programme it. I got a Error 11 Read Error and when trying to programme Error 12 Write Error. I tried it with another motor and just the same. The Ultima manual is absolutely useless, so can anyone else help me please. Many thanks in advance. J. Matthew Horton
  5. Hi Apologies for stealing someone else's thread - I saw the scissors crossing photo and assumed I could get some help on it I have so far got a facing and trailing crossover on top of each other, but it all got very messy when I tried to put the diamond in - how do you delete rails in templot and how to you curve both roads of a diamond so it sits on top of the existing rails Thanks Chris
