FGW SLEEPER TRAIN

Recommended Posts

Hi all

I am interested in running a FGW sleeper train and unsure of the formation of such trains. Of course it requires MK3 sleeping carriages which are now available from Hornby but was wondering what other rolling stock would be attached to such trains?

Many thanks in advance for the useful information that will be posted.

When ever I have seen a set they are (from the county end) BFO (declassified) (1717x); UO (unclasifed open - reseated TSO); RFM; upto 5 SLEPs. AFAIK I don't think the BFO is available in 4mm; the nearest option is a TGS with buffers fitted

Excellent pictures, well worth a view, a small snapshot of rail and transportation in the very far southwest.
