Paint for lining

Over the years I've practiced lining my models using a bowpen and paint and reached the stage where the result was one that I was satisfied with. Recently, however, I've had problems in that the paint seems to be drying too quickly in the pen and not flowing properly. Up until now I have used Humbrol paints as advised by the various experts / professionals in their writings, but I'm now beginning to wonder if the recent changes make them less suitable. If this is so what paints are now the best for this purpose.
