Pete 75C
Is anyone aware of any model shops in the southern Costa Blanca region, with more diverse stock than a toyshop selling a limited selection of brand names? I would Google, but it's a little difficult without knowing for example, the shop's name! Thanks, Pete.
br2975
Pete . I would suggest you contact the local ex-pat newspaper "Round Town News" . http://www.roundtownnews.com/ . At one time they had a regular pull-out centre section of several pages detailing local socities - from line dancing to pilates, makrame and hill walking; it included details of a Model Railway Society based in Torrevieja. . RTN could put you in touch with one of the club mmembers, who in turn could advise you accordingly. . Other places to start could be:- http://www.modelrailforum.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=2541 or http://www.torrevieja.co.uk/torrevieja-forum/12/26986 both are old threads, but may be a starting point. . From our place, in Mazarron, I'm unaware of any other modellers, or retailers other than a local toy shop in Puerto de Mazarron that stocks Tamiya and Games Workshop paints etc. . Another option would be the following local radio station, Cosat Calida International Radio,:- . http://www.costacalidaradio.com/ . The station operates from a ground floor flat in Puerto de Mazarron, and is the epitomy of a community radio station, predominantly for ex-pats. . An e-mail to Steve Tucker (Stevie T) at the station, and he'll ask on air for you during his morning show (ask him to do it during the morning quiz - that's the time they achieve peak listening figures)........................ . Good luck, let me know if you find anything. . Brian R Cardiff
Guest
Many thanks for the info Brian. Links bookmarked. I do remember a toyshop in Torrevieja that had a surprisingly large range of Ibertren and model-making sundries but as usual, the name and location escapes me! A model shop wouldn't be an everyday visit, so even if I have to widen the net and make a longer trip once in a while, that'd be ok. Thanks again, Pete.
