jewelled headlights

Hello all, help needed - I am working on some upgrades of 4mm and 7mm road vehicles and I aim to convert to 'jewelled' head and tail lights. Some time ago, on the web, I came across a model shop that stocked these items in a wide range of sizes but I lost the link on a change of PC and now I can't find anything suitable. Very grateful if someone can point me in the right direction.

Hi, you may find that Grand Prix Models (google)will have these. Probably not in 4mm scale, but it's worth a try. Certainly moulded clear lenses with mirrored backs were available for 7mm as it's the same 1/43rd scale as all the collectors' car models.

Jewelled lenses look naff because the facetting of the "jewels" looks exactly that! But failing all that. drill out the cast in headlight with progressively larger drills in a hand chuck and then drop in a toothpick's worth of clear 5minute epoxy. Prop up the model for 5 minutes and Bob's your Mum's bro! Almost free and very nice to boot.
