Long over due work on the Layout.

After prevaricating for the past few years I've finally made a long over due start to finishing the layout build.

To begin I've started to weather the track but two bottles of sleeper grime did not last long,

So still loads to do.

I always wanted Telegraph Poles so I bought Dapol and Ratio kits and had the joy of painting them.

Painting the insulator pots is a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon and I needed magnifiers to do them.

Next was something easier on the eyes, Trees amongst a forest of Seafoam.

I cleared the middle section of the Layout for track spraying but was struck by the look of the empty space, perhaps too evocative of the real thing, see what you think.

Hi Kieran,

less can be more and the irish railway system rarely looked busy - certainly nto outside Dublin or Belfast!

Greening Kirley Junction

The refurbishment of the layout continues concentrating on the scenics, ground cover, bushes and trees.  The new trees were added but they quickly disappeared, could have done with 3 times as many.

Put up extra shelving so I could have all the rolling stock in easy reach.

I've run out of room and there is still stock in boxes.  Must be getting near time to call a halt to collecting!

I spent ages trying to wire micro LED's into SSM's Ground Signals, tested them and them placed then near the TMD.  Not wired in yet but there are 4 there.
