KIRLEY JUNCTION

Tablet Snatcher posts installed at Clonmel and the Junction station. Kit from Owen O' Neill, with small delicate parts which replicates this signalling apparatus.

An unusual looking beast, I can't figure out how the two snatcher jaws on the post work out. The NCC ones only have a single set of jaws. But there were different patterns. By

The arm was moved at right angles to the post to line up with the locomotive tablet snatcher.  The two arms covered each way traffic.

I remember being at Inchicore 150 Open Day in 1996 and was surprised to see the ex-works Tara wagon. I had always assumed they were that zinc-brown colour they are always seen in, and never occured to me any other colour could be underneath.

I believe the later versions were painted red oxide after they realised the blue colour did not last.
