84B Oxley
Will it look this good? A Martin Finney example, still one of my favourite models. Jeff

MGR Hooper!
Images on facebook... I'm not an expert but it looks really nice. I hope the GWR folk like it.Please note...facebook images are of a lower quality. So images aren't as good as expected. Don't blame Heljan....

RMweb Gold MarshLane Posted September 3, 2016 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 3, 2016 Just incase anyone wants a look, I photographed the purple prototype sample at Telford today. RMweb Premium Hilux5972 Posted September 3, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 3, 2016 Oh look at that number plate. Is that going to have an etched insert or will it have transfers? If it's an etched insert, will people be as appalled as they are about DJM's etched inserts on their 14xx?
84B Oxley
Saw the pre-production model on Heljan's stand at Telford yesterday: the body looks superb but the driving wheels have very strange looking balance weights which allow the spokes to show through. Completely spoils the look of the chassis and would certainly stop me from buying one. Jeff

RMweb Premium boxbrownie Posted September 4, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 4, 2016 Aha I see what you mean (on MarshLane blog), surely they must be a pre production mock up weight.....we can hope.....maybe just for location purposes until the line is running? RMweb Premium boxbrownie Posted November 21, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 21, 2016 Say it's my lack of GWR knowledge if I am incorrect, but does the lining not look a little "thick"? Having said that, I am still definitely having one
neal
Hmmmm, Appreciate this is a pre-production shot, but there is something not quite right. Smoke box handrails aside, the downstand frame below the running plate looks too deep. Decoration is an easier fix. Or is it me....?

RMweb Premium Hal Nail Posted November 21, 2016 RMweb Premium Share Posted November 21, 2016 (edited) These are early stage test samples / mock ups gents. Yes fair point and I've hidden my comment on that basis. It is marvellous to be getting so many models these days. Miss Prism
Chimney body diameter should be 11.3mm.
Big James
Wrong scale, wrong region but it does look gorgeous. I'm Seriously tempted. Big james
Guest Isambarduk
"Say it's my lack of GWR knowledge if I am incorrect, but does the lining not look a little "thick"?" AFAIK, they did not receive lining in GWR days, only later in the BR era, as in the fourth photo. David

David I used "GWR" as a region area not an era specific question sorry, I was commenting on the only one with lining of course....the BR lined version, it still looks a bit thick, even for BR But as mentioned above if these are just mock ups then my question may well be void anyway. coachmann
Miss Prism said : Chimney body diameter should be 11.3mm. Dapol may have spotted their undernourished chimney, but if not, 0 gauge has no shortage of 'modellers' and Walsall Model Industries do a lost-wax Large Prairie chimney, product code: W2454 price £7.95.....
