gwernol
The Forestry Commission maintained a depot at Chirk, on the site of the Glyn Valley Tramway station. It was operational from around the end of the Second World War into the 1960s (and possibly later). The depot served most of the operations in Mid Wales and held at least two locomotives, and a lot of jubilee track for creating temporary logging railways. I'm trying to track down a photograph of the depot for my forthcoming book on the Hendre Ddu Tramway. Does anyone know of any photos of the depot? Many thanks, Dan
