RMweb Gold Market65 Posted November 18, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 18, 2015 Thank you, Rob, I recall seeing that special train. We were still having a good number of steam specials then, but they do seem to have reduced in numbers now. With regards, Rob.
micknich2003
The Springhead wheel turning lathe. Just the job for re profiling "Triang" wheels to "P4"., works a treat, and has you can see, powered by that "New Fangled" electric.
JeffP
Incredible. Anyone who has ever been round a loco works in steam days will have seen one...yet how many photos do you see? I suppose that, as lads, the locos were the stars. I remember HUGE discussions at the Plant as to how much of a loco had to be seen in order to write down it's number? If it were reduced to frames. was that OK? etc etc....... The older lads, not needing the cop, of course, strictly policed our notebooks...........
RMweb Gold Market65 Posted November 19, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 19, 2015 Thank you, Mick, for that photo' of the wheel turning lathe at Springhead. Fascinating to see it. Tonight, a look at Flamborough from the summer of this year. It is very overgrown compared to the steam age views. Regards, Rob.

RMweb Gold Market65 Posted November 19, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 19, 2015 Thank you Rob for those two photo's of 47851 at Brough. Good to see them. Any more of special trains? With best regards, Rob.
Lord Flashheart
I'll have a look but can't guarantee anything, I really should know the date of the last 2 pics as I travelled on it!, what I do remember well is 47851 down to around 30mph working flat out to get its train up Beattock. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted November 19, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 19, 2015 Thank you. If you do find anything, I'm sure it will be most interesting. 47851, 30mph going up Beattock, sounds very interesting, and I wish I had been on that train! With regards, Rob. Derekstuart
Damned good photo there Flash. I bet the passengers were happier on that train than the one you showed yesterday; they paid to travel behind a 47 and ended up behind an A4 instead.

PinzaC55
Electric lights. Were they emergency lamps then ? They were definitely oil, but a make more commonly associated with the LMS IIRC. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted November 22, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 22, 2015 Thank you, Mick, and PinzaC55 for your photo's. They are such welcome additions to this thread. Tonight, a photo' of one of the preserved class 14 Teddy Bears. This dates from some five years ago, and was taken at the NRM, York. It is appropriate because for a time in the mid-sixties, some of the class worked in Hull. With regards, Rob.

PinzaC55
I didn't visit Seamer very often except to change trains for the Hull line so I only have a few shots. Seamer Station 18.11.78 par PinzaC55, on ipernity The unique feature of the station was that when a new Seamer East box was built the original was allowed to stand so here it is looking over the newcomer's shoulder. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted November 22, 2015 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted November 22, 2015 Thank you, Mick, and PinzaC55, for your photo's, I do like seeing them. Derekstuart
Can I ask what type of DMU that is in Mr Pinza's photo, heading to Hull?I'm afraid that I am not overly knowledgeable over DMU's.
