Anlaby Road 1965. The tank engine is no doubt making its final journey to "Seven Section" and then Draper's "Knackers Yard".

Hi Mick, great photo. Quick question, what or where is "Seven Section"?

Seven Section was a group of sidings at Dairycoates West, these paralleled the Hull to Selby main line on the east side and ran back towards Hessle Road.

Thanks Mick. It's good to learn something new every day.

H&BRly Class B No94. The caption says North of York, 1923, I have my doubts about both, the engine was at Springhead until, 12 December 1929, and 1923 seems a little late for it to be still carrying its original number. The train is "Lamped" Empty Mineral, the wagons belong to Frickley Colliery which was served by the H&BRly.

North of York could (just) include the loop back to Hull via Market Weighton.

Due shortly, Vol 1 of Nick Deacon's two part tome of the Hull & Barnsley Rly, he has put many hours of original research into this work, and it is certainly not a "Re Ash" of what as gone before. To be published by Lightmoor Press, 240 pages, £25, see their website for more details.

I received my copy today, good reproduction and layout, well worth the asking price.

Hello everybody, and many thanks, Mick for the information about the book, which I have on order. I’m going to the Hull Show, most probably on the Saturday - the weather is supposed to be reasonable that day. ;)

So, today I’ve been out cycling, and have some photo’s which I have taken and will post them over the next couple of days.

Today, here are three of Driffield, two of which show 158860 on the 12.28 to Scarborough from Sheffield. It was running on time.

Good evening. That’s a great photo’ of N10, 1711, Mick. As you say, it’s almost certainly at Dairycoates.

Tonight, I have a couple of photo’s, from yesterday, of class 158 on the 13.00 from Hutton Cranswick to Hull and Sheffield. It departed on time. The sun was very low in the sky.
