Good evening, everyone. This evening, again, courtesy of JohnGreyTurner, on Flickr, we travel to Filey Holiday Camp to see a famous engine. It is LNER A3, 4472, Flying Scotsman. She can be seen reversing onto the triangle at Butlins Filey Holiday Camp, to turn and then return to Scarborough to pick up the ‘Cider Express’ on the 30 September, 1973.

Good afternoon, everyone. This afternoon, we are going to Beverley, on the 28th August, 1963, courtesy of ricsrailpics, on Flickr. Approaching the station on that sunny day is an Ivatt 4mt, Flying Pig, 43076, on a short freight, possibly the Bridlington pick up returning to Hull.

Good evening, everyone, and time for another photo’ by ricsrailpics, on Flickr, of Bridlington, and this evening we go back to a day in August, 1952, for a look at a little ex LNER Y3 shunting engine. It is 68155. Apparently these little engines would go as fas as Driffield to shunt the yard there too.

p1.jpg.ed6939943d7181af607c15b70aa9d45e.jpg

A8 69877 passing High Mill Crossing just north of Pickering in 1953 - found in a local Pickering group on facebook, copyright unknown.

The gates are still manual as they were for much of the boxes life, only becoming mechanised a few months before the cabin closed.

Good evening, everyone. This evening, again courtesy of jsb303, on Flickr, we go to Bridlington, and it’s a day in 1947, and all the track and signalling is complete without any rationalisation as can be seen in the photo’s earlier in this thread.

The train, to Hull, is hauled by a D49/2, Hunt, 2744, The Holderness, and is comprised of non corridor carriages, with a former NER, David Bain, low roof, 49’, all third leading.

Last two are great.

I only once used a class 124 on a trip to Liverpool in 1969, and loved it. So different to the dmu offering on the southern trans pennine route.

And I loved the Peaks, riding behind them on cross-country services between Sheffield and Birmingham in my student days. They had presence.

1D03 was the 1312 to Kings Cross it was joined with 1A26 at Doncaster. Was usually the loco off the Garston/Trafford Park Freightliner that morning, loco would go LE to Doncaster to work the inbound service, that formed this working. An extra TSO was usually added at Paragon to strengthen the southbound working  and its later northbound service which returned to Hull as the last London.

Good evening, everyone. This evening, courtesy of jsb303 on Flickr, we are in Driffield, in the summer of 1956. There is no other information, but enlarging the photo’ suggests that the B1 could be 61322, as it makes it’s way to Bridlington.

Rob, Driffield Depot signalbox is seen in your photo'. Opened c1874 when line converted to Block Working, reduced to a Gatebox c1909, finally abolished mid '60's. Of interest c1900 there was a special Bell Signal in use: " Is Line Clear for Horse Drawn shunt move."

Good evening, everyone, and thank you, Mick, for that signalling diagram of Driffield Depot signalbox.
This evening, it is time for a photo’ by Mark Evans, on Flickr, of Cottingham North, in February, 1972. It shows the signalbox and a Metro Cammell class 101 DMU in damp weather conditions on it’s way to Hull.

And now for something a bit different. This is a photo’, by John Law, on Flickr, of an 08 shunter. It is 08567, as it was on the 18th January, 1986, at Hull Paragon station.

Good evening, everyone. This evening, courtesy of jsb303, on Flickr, we have a journey to Market Weighton, and a look at the east junction as K1, 62007, takes the line to Driffield, on a summer Saturday extra to Bridlington. The date is unknown, but probably the late 1950’s.
