Can't add anything about the coach, or the other vehicle other than it looks like a gauging vehicle, but it is at York. The buildings to the left once housed the museum before it moved to its present site. Correction: The building behind the coach is the former museum, the building on the left (with the doors open) is the former carriage shed. Well, after a lot of diligent research, and trying to order the slides in the batch I bought into the order they were taken, I believe I can answer my own question (which must be a first). I think it is a view from Station Road, Lockerbie looking under Bridge Street and out towards the goods yard which was beyond. I can't quite get to the position on Google maps, so if anyone is familiar with Lockerbie station and could confirm this, I would be very grateful.
