Now showing as April 2022 on the coming soon page.

It's a long way from China for a little engine with little wheels, small amount of coal and a small fresh water tank!

These two are now listed as due December 2021

That must mean they are must have an imminent or are being produced production slot ! Time will tell having seen the expected date moved so many times.

Looking like the wallet will be taking a hit that's 3/4 locos expected about that time ouch

Yes. As it was in it's earlier guise.

You can't really expect them to cater for alterations made in a working life of sixty odd years. That bunker and open cab was a later change quite possibly by Pilkingtons.

It also later received a none prototypical chimney when it was dumped in a playground in Skelmersdale.

Could be worse....

If I have understood correctly, Hornby are presenting Daphne as delivered to Tytherington Stone Co. in 1899; did Pilkingtons ever repaint it? I look forward to the Skelmersdale version - perhaps one for the Railroad range?

Almost certainly got a repaint at some point considering it was still working into the 1960s.

Doesn't seem to have any lining in 1955.

Apparently it needs a new boiler and is not seen as economical to repair. It was supposed to go to St Helens bus museum but I believe it's still in Preston as they couldn't raise the funds to move it.

Colourised photo here at the quarry.

Beware, one of the photos is of a different loco...

Is it still on their website ?

When I look at it, it does not appear anymore.

All the best

Press shop and you'll see the coming soon image at the bottom of the menu. Click the image and it'll take you to the page. https://uk.Hornby.com/catalogue/coming-soon?spring=true&summer=true&autumn=true&winter=true&sort_by=8&page=1

Although at the moment it only goes Spring 22 to Winter 22/23. So anything due Winter 21/22 (such as Bear & Daphne) won't be shown on the page.
