Guest
Videos and images from the S Scale workshop at Exporail 2015, held in the Canadian railway museum in Saint-Constant, Quebec. Whatever happened to Simon Parent's excellent kits? I must try and find out if there's any chance of their reappearing. http://sscaleworkshop.blogspot.dk/2015_08_01_archive.html
edcayton
It's not just eye-candy is it? How do they get the sound effects from the freight cars? Superb. Ed
Guest
Gentlemen, apologies for the delay in replying. Things are rather hectic here just now. They are produced in batches, to the number of orders placed. Many items are added to S Scale Loco & Supply's lists*. His mogul is a real beauty: there was a completed version for sale at Portline Hobbies a couple of years ago: $2,295 I think. Surprisingly, it was a few months before it sold. I wish I had had the money at the time. Having seen one in the flesh, they are simply exquisite.Simon is taking orders/expressions of interest for his next project, CNR class T3a.pdf a somewhat larger beast... 20150927-DSC01923.jpg (Photo of pilot model) Hope that helps. *They also produce engine wheels...... Indeed it is, Simon, that Mogul is a real beauty. I've been looking for some better images of it and stumbled upon this youtube, which gives a good all-round view - as might be expected on a turntable. I've had a look at S Scale Loco's site but can find nowhere to sign up for one of these kits, which I'm glad to see is still available. And wheels? Again, all I can find is tyres in various sizes and balance weights. No listing of actual wheels. Are you perchance in possession of secret information or are these available off-list? It's not just eye-candy is it? How do they get the sound effects from the freight cars? Superb. Ed I think it's the sheer "heft" of S scale. It really is a nice size to work with - on all counts. tpm1ca
Hey everyone: I'm joining this thread really late. Simon - thanks for the kind words! I'm one of the administrators on the blog that David referenced in the initial post. Since that post, I've added a number of videos of the S Scale Workshop layout - including videos from Exporail 2016, where we had two of Simon's 2-10-2s double-heading. Visit the blog and start scrolling - you'll find lots to watch. Cheers! - Trevor http://sscaleworkshop.blogspot.ca
