Has anyone any knowledge of which 'bus routes go that way and where they run from in the city centre (preferably somewhere near Cardiff General Central) please?

Mike

The exhibition is close to Llandaff Fields but the old Number 4 route Trolleybuses no longer run

Instead http://www.cardiffbus.com/english/service.shtml?serviceid=1981

You might find a taxi quicker and not too expensive - it's only a couple of miles.

Regards,

Dave

I plugged in Cogirep for the first time in a year or so, pleased that it all worked first time, didn't even need to clean the rails! Here's an old

shot; hopefully I'll have some more varied stock available for the Cardiff show. If anyone fancies a go on it, please don't hesitate.

Yep,

I am looking at this too for a possible visit, some old friends there plus some interesting looking layouts I have not seen yet.

If I get there I will travel by train and walk up from Cardiff Central, stopping for a pint on the way up and back.

There seem to be several pubs in the area, and a possible route up through Sophia Gardens, any suggestions?

cheers

I'm visiting the show, but my transport plans are uncertain.

I might get the train, then get a bus ( No 24 istr) up to the Halfway House on Catherdral Road.

I can't comment on Cardiff pubs, as the last one I was in was The Plough, Whitchurch, when the WAG had a meeting there.

They were a rough looking bunch then, and i suspect they look even meaner now!

Two additional attractions will be the modern image terminus station modelled by Mr Graham Mann, with its tower crane and Sky scraper site. Plus Steve from Lord and Butler with his fascinating layout Hafod Broadway, featuring a staggering amount ( not just in cost value) of electronic wizardry, sound, lights, and lots of moving stuff.

We have 12 layouts at this time, with the possibility of one, ( to be confirmed,) more layout attending

Looking forward to seeing you all there.

Should be there at some point. Sounds a worthwhile thing to support as Cardiff didn't have its usual show last October due to the egg chasing World Cup.

Regarding pubs, I haven't been in any in that part of town for a while, but the Mochyn Du and The Cayo Arms were always good for decent beer. The Beverley was not too bad. Haven't tried The Cricketers.

"The Halfway" (S.A. Brain) is located on Cathedral Road, directly opposite Fields Park Road, which leads to the venue.

.

"The Conway" is located a short walk away and does some fine meals.

.

"The Maltsters' - "The Butcher's Arms" and "The Black Lion" are all located in Llandaff City less than a mile away from the venue, and, whilst in the opposite direction to the city centre, Llandaff is just off the Western Avenue one of Cardiff's main arterial routes.

.

We look forward to seeing you all
