Can't believe I haven't found this one before - I must say it tops all other layouts I seen for realism.  And in 'N' too.  Well done.  I'm not normally one for the modern scene, but this replicates so accurately the real thing I can't help but love it.  Keep the photos coming!

Cheers,

William

Gave the title a bit of a rethink as I've really taken to making small portable dioramas. Having completed the canal scene I decided to make a TMD that could showcase my locos when not on Gloucester Road; this was sort of inspired by Model RaiL#212.  It is going to sit on on foam sheets and have the same dimensions as the canal scene ie 2ft by 1 ft but will be much more urban.  Messed around with two ideas so far, first up is just four lines, two into the fuel point and two into the Shed. Next is a bit more involved and the one im leaning towards.  There will be a slight incline at the the front with two gently banked main line tracks, fencing then the TMD with 2 shorter lines to the fuel and two going through the shed, some low relief buildings around the back and i bit more urban backscene,

There was a weekend possession for some track ballasting over the weekend, some of the YGH and YGAs were left down at New Street.   Network rail was on hand to make sure the collection went as planned.

47474 was tasked with picking up the wagons, it arrived right on time. I was able to catch it arriving and backing down onto a YGA

It was then captured from the overpass which it has to travel under in order to make the point for the YGH pickup.

Once the collection had been made the short train headed out to the mainline for the short trip to dump the remaining ballast
