Bit more progress.

Second interior painted, passengers and crew added.

Must be pre sugar-tax, judging by the number of Coke cans on the tables !

Also toned down the exhausts and orange bits on the bogies, prior to rebuilding and weathering.

Cheers,

Phil.

Sorry phil....big fan of your work but the coke 'cans' look O gauge to me...'re paint a more maroonish red ...abracadabra... .extra large (OOgauge)doublefrapachenomoca2shotexpressosoyamilked....6 quid please Costa coffee....

You also need more bags on seats!

And not a smart phone or lap top to be seen.

Get the body on quick ...it will stop smart a£$es making daft observations.

Had this stashed away for a while, but a heavyweight tractor isn't really much use for my retro era, so it's going to re-liveried into a much less pleasing colour scheme !!

But at least it'll be able to run with the modern era stuff.

Cheers,

Phil.

37706?

That's the number on it now, and that's the number it will be when it's finished too.

At least by starting with a model of the same loco the details will be correct.......

.....apart from the lamp brackets, nose end handrails, buffers, fuel tank steps.....

Cheers,

Phil.

706 in WCRC guise has cast bogies rather than fabricated.

Goes to look for photos

Cast

post-408-0-43315900-1546207021_thumb.jpg

Fabricated on 37669

post-408-0-36011800-1546207041_thumb.jpg

Cast were usually fitted to D*lt*cs and H**v*rs but moved around after they were scrapped.

Bachmann do make cast mouldings as spares for the 55s, but if you are patient with a scalpel, you can take off the fabricated flange to make a reasonable representation of a cast bogie from a fab one.

Cheers,

Mick

Looks like 706 is back on fabricated bogies then.

Pic taken as it passed Gresty Bridge open day earlier this year. (which is the condition I'm copying!)

Got pics of it previously on cast bogies.

Cheers,

Phil.

Yep - looks like they've been swapped. Didn't know that.

I shall have to get better info from my WCRC mole......................

The perils of modelling the current scene.

I need some cast bogies for a model that currently has fabricated. There may be a swap occurring with my 706.

Cheers,

Mick

While fighting the carpet-monster for one of the body securing screws out of the tractor, I noticed a HHA hidden away in its box under my workbench.

Got some of these when they were first released, but the rake always looked 1 wagon short to me.

Finally acquired another one a few months ago, so I figured I better make it blend in with the rest, and it could be a 'quick win' of a job.

Found the old template used for making the false base of the load.

Plastic cut to shape and fitted.

Weathered to (hopefully!) match rest of rake.

Cheers,

Phil.
