kirley
I'm after a drawing of a GNR(I) S Class Locomotive, can anyone help please?
Horsetan
I have a drawing dated 1925, so this pre-dates the 1938 rebuild. Alternatively, you could contact Richard McLachlan at the Irish Railway Record Society, as he has digitised a fair few of the Dundalk drawings collection, and could sell you a set. I don't know if he has any drawings for the 1938 rebuilds (i.e. the form in which no.171 is now), or whether Dundalk in fact produced any drawings for them. kirley
Thanks HT, it would be the current version I'm after, I'll contact Richard.
Horsetan
Good luck with that. I'm after the 1938 drawings as well, but nobody knows if they exist.
antony
Richard doesn't list the S class on his drawing collection. Here are some oddments I've gathered which may be of interest. I also have a number of drawings for the S2 which are very similar and a number of photos of 171 taken at Whitehead for modelling purposes. PM me if you wish. I should have the rest of 172 somewhere!
