Evening guys, hope all are well?

The plan is to paint up the corrugated roof next, have a light grey for the base colour, then to dry brush over a darker shade with lighter tone to follow. Intend to add some mossy or algae indication to weather off?

Regards always

Bob

Hi.....

Have applied an none uniform cover of a light grey to the already darker tone of the Wills corrugated sheets, hopefully this will provide a suitable base for the intended roof effect, prior to the application of a darker tone?

Hi

Hope all are ‘chipper’....?

Have applied a darker tone for contrast, will allow to dry overnight and then intend to take a fibre pencil to it, taking it back down to a ‘uniform’ base colour......

Will post when done, holler if you think otherwise

Morning all,

Hope you are all well on this wet Saturday morning?

A fibreglass pencil has been used to lightly rub over the corrugated panels which has blended the grey tones together, to me it looks okay, but as always I am appreciative of your comments. Don’t want to overdo it, so may leave for now and move on to the painting up in light and dark stone of the shelter bays, any tweaking and surface moss and weathering effects can be undertaken later perhaps?

Hi

This is how I intend to leave the roof for now, photo taken in a better light (despite the very gloomy and wet) conditions.

I love it Bob, LOVE IT!! Now dry brush the edges of the light stone colour with a metal colour and the top of the ridge with a lighter colour and leave it there. You only want the faintest of colour transfer though wipe most of the paint off the brush mate. Then do the same to the ridges of the corrugated roof with a light rust colour.

Regards Lez.

Thanks Lez,

I have found doing this canopy very therapeutic to do bit by bit and it has turned out much better than I thought I could have hoped for when I began.

Take care, hope all are well,

Regards always

Evening Guys,

Took it slowly, but have applied both light and dark stone lightly across the central passenger shelter bay  ‘woodwork’ to see both what the effect be and how ‘steady’ my hand was painting such small areas, quite pleased with this initial painting, will revisit in daylight to finish.

Afternoon everyone,

All the passenger shelters bays have been initially painted up in dark and light stone, after a bit of tidying in the back garden, even managed to do some of this sitting outside in very pleasantly mild conditions before showers broke out and forced a retreat indoors. Will require some tidying where I’ve over painted  but fairly pleased with the results so far.
Enjoy the remainder of Sunday, take care and stay safe, will post further when able.

Had mine a couple of weeks ago, I hope the side effects are nicer to you than they were to me!

Which of the two available did you receive?

Hi Bob,

I had the Astra Zeneca / Oxford one, I felt fine after it, but by bedtime that night I was feeling a bit ill, I didn't sleep at all that night, and by the next day it felt like I had the flu! After managing to get some sleep the following night I started to feel better and was back to myself by lunchtime.

So a day and a half of being ill for me, but well worth it if it helps kill this virus instead of other people!

Hi....Strange how these side-effects manifest themselves in some and not others, apart from a partially sore, aching arm....nothing further at the moment? I too have the same vaccine.

Regards always, have a good weekend,

Bob

My wife and myself ended up sampling the alternatives - I had Pfizer, she had Astra/Zeneca.

We both had very mild reactions, fortunately - just sore arms for a day or so.

It is strange how different people react in such different ways to these jabs.

Yours,  Mike.

Evening my dear pals, hope that all is well with yourselves?

Thought I’d post these two images of the canopy roof before I attempt to ‘glaze’ it and would appreciate your comments as I have applied metal colour to the glazing supports and slightly rust weathered the corrugated sheets, both of which I don’t want to overdo and hope that I have completed sufficiently?

Looking great Bob. How do you plan to do the glazing?

John

Hi....

Thank you for the kind Comments.....

With the 'glazing' I have perhaps 'boxed myself into a corner', as it should, if following the 'destruction's' be completed prior to the fixing of the roof, attached to the base of the bars and running 'sandwiched' between the supports too....however I will be attaching the supplied acetate sheeting as the final part of construction?

As it may be rather fiddly to work from beneath, I am currently thinking about fixing the acetate sheet to the top of the glazing bars, then attach further pieces of glazing bars on top to match those beneath?

Or simply 'mark' these strips in paint or marker pen?

But I am open to suggestions....?

Regards always

Bob
