Evening guys.....Hope all are safe on this wet and windy night....?

Having had a think, yes I know I've been warned about thinking as it'll be my undoing.....but having testing the various 'easy options' by placing the 'glazing' on the upper surface, it just didn't look right, so have spent a while, measuring and cutting to size, separate pieces of acetate to fit and then stuck onto the glazing bars beneath, these now as they should be above the 'glass' .....hope and believe this has produced the desired effect?

When you first talked about modifying the Airfix canopy I have to admit I thought it was a bad idea , but you have proved me wildly wrong. I think you’ve made a cracking job of it and it really looks the part . Well done.

Hi Guys....
Just a courtesy message, to send my apologies in advance, if postings go quiet on here for a time, as sadly I have had a family bereavement in the early hours of this morning concerning my only living relative, so given the current Covid situation and restrictions, settling these matters is not going to be as uncomplicated as they normally would be?

So will be back on here when able.

In the meantime, please remain safe and hope to be in touch soon,

Regards always

Bob

Evening guys,

Hope all are well and keeping safe?

Slowly getting back on track personally and organising the necessary arrangements and legal stuff, so hopefully will be able to have some layout time soon as a distraction, I know that may sound a bit selfish but it’s been one hell of a week on top of everything that’s going on, but need a an hour or so unwinding. To that end I am going to work on something simple, building the parcel platform wall I think, nothing too taxing but can loose myself in perhaps?

Will update soon, take care guys.....

Regards always

Welcome back Bob. How are you holding up my old mate?

Regards Lez.

Hi

I am okay thanks, you know how it goes, swinging from okay to lower moods but trying to concentrate on important matters to deal with the grieving feelings as they surface.

The funeral can’t be held until late April sadly, but that’s just how it is so can’t do anything further, as there is no one else it’s down to me to sort matters. Thankfully my aunt was exceptionally organised and everything is to hand to help sort out her affairs. Even so being the last remaining family member, it leaves a huge hole in my life, but still keeping positive in all ways!

Regards always

Bob

Good to hear you back on here Bob. I can vouch for Ade's comment as having this fantastic hobby slowly helped me to gain a sense of normality after losing my parents. Even if it's a case of loking through magazines or threads on here just as a distraction.  Just take one day at a time Bob take care.

Steve.

Hi Bob, I hope you manage to do a bit on the layout to help take your mind off things even for a short time.

I got back into railway modelling after losing my Mum and I can honestly say it helped.

Cheers, Ade.

Same here. I got back into RM after losing my wife in October 2019. Like you say, swinging from OK to lower moods is exactly right. But a distraction is always therapeutic for us and there's no guilt in that.

Afternoon Guys.......

Hope is all well with yourselves?

Spent an afternoon beginning to 'clad' the balsa wood walls in 'Wills English Brick' panels, the next stage will be filling the gaps and then taking the red effect off with a base coat of grey...

Evening guys,

Cracking day back at Arley today for a station site inspection, great to be back....!

The rather horrid plastic red colour of the Wills English Brick has been erased with a base colour of grey, prior to the blue brick hue being applied....

Evening Guys...Hope all are well...?

Part of today has been spent sitting in the garden enjoying the spring sunshine forming up a canopy for the parcels platform out of an LCut kit and scraps of corrugated sheeting for the roof....made it somewhat 'scruffy' as befits the time period....?
