Controlling trap points - one or two levers

Recommended Posts

And in the same vein as my previous query - http://www.rmweb.co....ease-crossover/ - would a trap point protecting a point on the main line be operated from the same lever as the main point, facing point locks excepted, of course?

The reason for these questions is that I'm trying to interpret signal box diagrams so that I can determine the number of levers required for my own layout. As I'm building them myself (I like making things difficult for myself) and it's all going to be manual, a few headaches now should save more later. But that's probably just wishful thinking.

Yes. It would be completely normal for the main to loop point and the protecting trap point to be worked from one lever. On your signal diagram they will normally be labelled as 'a' and 'b' - eg 17a and 17b. Post you diagram and i am sure we can help.
