Waddon
Hi, first post here, I'm trying to build a small N gauge tramway, using a mix of Kato unitram track and ordinary Peco. I was looking for tips for recessing the peco track into the roadway surface, so just the rail tops and necessary space for flanges are visible, and the rest is buried. I was considering making the road surface out of cardboard, but I'm struggling to come up with a method of cutting it to exactly fit the shapes of the track underneath, without unsightly irregular gaps appearing between the road and the rails, if you see what I mean. Anyone have any tips on doing this?
Waddon
Thanks! That sounds like a good idea! I was trying something similar, with non-permanent marker on the rail heads and then pressing the card onto it, but the results were a bit rough

rue_d_etropal
here is something Michael Mott did. It is one of the neatest ways I have seen of covering the sleepers. http://gn15.info/forum/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1158&p=120416&hilit=michael#p120416
