£10.60 is that? :P

Sorry, sometimes I can't help being an ignorant teenager... ;)

If you're volunteering in the 1940s, 10/6 should be no problem....

Just wait until some joker proffers a brass thruppence and a couple of farthings for their fare!

Half a guinea, dear boy.

And dear at at half the price!

An' I'll tell the b*gger that 'e can go sling 'is 'ook!

I think they ought to cut down all the stages...
And stick up all the fares
If tickets cost a pound apiece
Why should you make a fuss?

It's worth it just to ride inside
That sixty-foot-long by eight-foot-wide

Inside that monarch of the rail
Always out in rain or hail.
That big eight-wheeler, dark-green-painted,
British Rail, MK1 Design,
Ninety-seven seater
Ninety-seven seater railway coach.

Hold very tight please! ;)

Imputations?  About Mrs Peel?

Perish the thort!

(What are your thought about the delectable Cathy Gale, btw?)

But given the characteristics of the Bowler-Hatees, I feel one might impugn Mr Steed with impunity.  Especially as he seems to have abandoned his bowler as a subterfuge...

Our school, being within a mile or two of Elstree studios, was sometimes used at a location for TV and film. I once met "Tara King" while they were making an episode of The Avengers.

How about:

"Inside that Monarch of the rail

A reader of The Daily Wail"

ps they'll be keeping a good lookout for rough looking men with snow on their boots....

As long as it wasn't running from Selby to Goole or St Erth to St Ives...

Well, a year ago (last Thursday)...

I was walking at a shew,

And met a man who thought he knew the lot!

He was going on about variations of Stroudley tanks...

And the number of rivets an Adams Radial's got.

So I asked him "What's that loco over there?"

He answered "Ohh it's an N"

I might have gone on thinking that was true, if the locomotive in question hadn't put that chap to shame and answered...

"I hain't an N. I'm a... U.

A Maunsell U

The gnicest work of Mmaunsell at the shew...

I'm a U, how do you do?

You really ought to k-know w-who's w-who..."

On another note, wouldn't the world be a much more amusing place if we replaced Guns with Gnus?

"This gnu has a range of 400ft..."

Provided its not susceptible to backfiring.....
