Nearholmer
Aber warum alle diese diskussion uber Londoner bahnhofen? Kannst du nicht sehen dass ich bei Birchoverham bin? Schnell jetzt - ein Englisches Bier wartet auf mich im Dodo! 2

Ich moechte gerne ins Castle Aching gehen. You are walking down the railway line? Gehen Sie entlang der Gleis? Better to take the train. Am besten fahern Sie mit dem Zug. Gehen = too go on foot Fahren = to go or travel by alternative means. Edit: Due to extreme brain fade I have written fahren where I should have written reisen. Put it down to senility and now 8 years since having to speak German in anger. Edited July 17, 2020 by Andy Hayter Correction 1 1

Annie said she was confused and I can understand that. I rather oversimplified the situation - by a wide margin. Gehen can mean to go in a more general sense than I indicated. Ich gehe nach London im Urlaub - I am going to London on holiday - does not indicate that you intend to walk. However asking how to get to the railway station and then using gehen instead of fahren does suggest walking. As for bl***y Russian: I could never get my mind round completed and continuous travel and the use of the correct verb. Especially when incomplete movement can be in the past. Edit: again fahren should read reisen. Edited July 17, 2020 by Andy Hayter Correction 1 1

Hroth
Notice that, quite correctly, the starboard leeboard has been deployed to ensure that the dinghy proceeds in more or less a straight line... Naturally, a firm hand on the tiller is required. 2
Nearholmer
Am I to understand that my German marine stands accused of being Russian, as well as of intending to walk the length of the WNR? (never again shall I have a wager with myself about how long I can keep that picture of JA in a dinghy from appearing) Edited July 16, 2020 by Nearholmer 1 3
RMweb Premium Compound2632 Posted July 16, 2020 RMweb Premium Share Posted July 16, 2020 @rocor wasn't implying any such thing, just saying that there's bound to be Russian misinformation entering play - possibly in league with @Hroth, who appears to be trying to open a second front.
