Andrew P
Its just had a coat of paint, I had no Grey so I've used a pot of Masonry Black and a Cream Emulsion mixed on the top. It should dry o.k. and then I will have a nice dark surface to work on.

Andrew P
So today I collected the White Faced MDF and gave it some Blue and fixed it to the back of the Layout. I then started to play around with the Track, doing some minor amendments from the previous test and with the Turntable now next to the Shed it looks more realistic. I have also managed to get the Goods Sidings looking better as well so more Shunting potential. The cream MDF represents the Coaling Platform with the Std 4 being Coaled . Jock67B
Afternoon Andy, that is still in my humble opinion the best way to check if everything fits and suits what you want from your layout. What turntable will you use as a matter of interest? I know that next time I look in, there will doubtless be more done but please try not to overdo things mate, Kind regards, Jock. Thanks George and Jock, taking it very easy today, my after Lunch Nap turned into an Hour and a Half, still after 8 Hours last nigh I guess I must have needed it. Jock the TT is a Heljan DCC one, it will NOT be worked from the Hand set but by its control box, TBH I haven't had the instructions out yet so all I know is from what I saw of Lee's before he flogged it to go back to O Gauge. There seems to be a trend here as that's what young GT has just done as well, I hope its NOT CATCHING, hahha.
Andrew P
Well before Lunch and again this afternoon I've laid most of the Points, Just need a Right Curved to do the Run Round loop, (it was going to be a Medium Right, but that looked totally wrong) and then finish off later in the week. The TT hole needs cutting out but that may not be for a few days yet as I need it in exactly the right place as there's not a lot of room for error and Lee said he would come over and give me a hand, as he has already done his own last year. Andrew P
Cheers Nick and George, there won't be a lot of progress today as I'm off to the Bachmann Launch at 11-30 at Solihull. There's not a lot for me this year as its predominantly NSE and Coaches with Passengers. The 2 MT will hopefully arrive at last but that's about it with Steam Stock for 2016 from the Blue Box Brigade. I have Pre Ordered 603 Squadron from the Red Box Company and may pick up Exeter as well soon.

Mulgabill
Andy Just caught up with this again, for some reason its not coming up as updated on my watch list. I'm really looking forward to an S&D Shed, especially having been to West Somerset on Sunday to relive the end. I saw the RCTS special handed over by 48308 at Highbridge on the last day Which involved a shunt across the GW main line, anf through the Goods shed to gain the link across the flat crossing to the S&D. The train was taken on by 2 Ivatt class 2mt tanks. In the evening I pestered my father to take me to Bath to see the last train arrive, (I was 12 then). And came away with laurel wreath off 80043 which lasted about 7yrs in our shed. The next day we went back to see the last special depart, and go arounf the shed(s), Its a pity you cant squeeze in both the S&D and Midland sheds, as they had a unique atmosphere, and interesting layout. Keep it up, its your progress thats keeping me progressing. All the best TONY
Andrew P
Hi Tony, your the SECOND person today to suggest a Second Shed, its something that I'll definitely look into. I'm NOT out to copy Bath and I need to retain as much Siding mileage as I can for Wagon Shunting, but the Midland Shed at Bath was behind and to the right of the S & D Shed and only accessed from the Turntable so that will be something I will study tomorrow before cutting out the TT hole. Cheers for your input and your memories. Re coming up when you open R M Web, if you following to many it wont, I had to UN -follow one the other day in order to follow another, I think it only likes about 6 or 7 Follows. All the very best. Andrew P
Well the planned visit today to a Horse Show has not materialised so instead I've been in the Old Potting Shed for an Hour. Some more track has been laid including the Ash Pit, The Peco pit was about 1mm to deep for the two layers of cork, so rather that mess about cutting into the 12mm ply, I have cut the base off the pit. I painted the hole black and then fitted the pit and steps. Once Ash is in the bottom no one will notice. As mentioned above, a couple of comments have now been made about a second Shed as per Bath, so again this morning I've had a measure up, and yes by moving the TT around a bit there will be room for a Midland Shed to the right rear of the S & D Shed and fed off the TT just as the prototype did many moons ago. I'm not 100% convinced this will happen yet, BUT if I decided to do it, then there will be room to fit it in. The Art box represents the Shed as its almost the right size. Now some general pics. 67A
Hi Andy, I like it!!!! I like it a lot!!!! I like it even more with the Midland shed!!!! ...........Isn't that ash pit a scale 3 to 4 inches too shallow? Looking good mate. Edited to add due to having something else to do which OI had forgot!!! Don't forget Ash Pits are only about 2ft - 3ft deep as some poorly paid labourer had to get that lot out and into a wagon for disposal, Inspection Pits are generally about 5ft deep to allow maintenance staff to stand up whilst working - like I did with the aid of a milk crate or the like!
