5x TPE 68's at York on Friday.

Note the slight livery variations, especially to the Diagonal Blue stripe below the cab window where it meets the nose-end handrail, and the size of the Pink/Purple patch which contains the number.

Cheers,

Phil.

Don't know why there are car stop markers on the approach to Princes Risborough.....

Is the line bi-directional ?

Otherwise the numbers are facing away from the direction of travel, which seems even more odd !

Cheers,

Phil.

To allow trains to reverse, as an aid for the driver to recognise when they’ve cleared the signal they are about to reverse at, at the front of the picture...

note the shunting signal mounted on it.

And I check the track layout just now, and there is a working that does just that. 5A58 is sat on the C&PRR line about to set back to said signal before crossing over to platform 2 then on to Aylesbury....

Done that move a few times both with units and light locos coming from Aylesbury

you can drop behind that signal to run round a short freight that has been left in the up platform, if it’s too long to fit between the signals and you have to pass the signal at the south end of the station (164) the run round involves a trip to high Wycombe and back!

You have to drop behind that signal to change ends if your coming from the north to access the Thame branch (via the down platform) all the crossovers at the north end of risborough can only take you from the up to the down now

Not strictly a 68 shot, but 68025 Superb leads a Wavertree Jn - Crewe trainer on 17/7/19. Passing the Alstom facility near Ditton East Jn. Two 08s and a FL 66 are visible in the distance

Smart layout!

Nice trees - pity about the unweathered houses though..................

Same layout, same loco, perhaps too much scenery and too little track.....

Great pics. It’s a lovely spot for catching a 68.

Between about 17.30 and and 19.00 there are three services heading north, plus all manner of DMU combinations from 2 to 12 car. Then before 19.30 there could be DB 66 on the empties from Calvert heading south.

With the wind in the right direction, you will hear the 68 before you see it.....

The other two services with 11 and 12
