The Helensburgh and district model railway club is currently building a new layout, it will be on display at model rail Scotland next weekend. Part of the layout is a scrap yard, this is my contribution to it.

I used a Dapol 9F kit which I have heavily modified, boiler was removed and boiler tubes installed instead. Many of them have been cut at one end. (That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.) Other details have been carved off or left off the model all together. The tender was modified as well cutting out the moulded coal. The loco was painted black and transfers added before going to town with humbrol weathering powders.

Here is the final result it's not for rivet counters but it is an unusual subject for modeling, it was an enjoyable project and I'm reasonably happy with how it turned out.
