Harry Jörg
Hello all,my name is Harry, I'm a german modeller. I was grown up in the 1960th with Matchbox die casts and Airfix plastic kits and like to visit UK and Ireland during holidays. Although I don't have an own layout and I'm not a member of a club, I like model railways, especially the british ones (f.e. I subscribed Model Rail magazine). That's the reason, why I want to tell you about a special event in Miniatur Wunderland Hamburg, Germany. There is the annual meeting of friends of Miniatur Wunderland during the second weekend of September. May be some british model railroaders are in Hamburg at this time and can take part. The most important facts: Two days entrance plus lunch plus dinner (lunch and dinner on Saturday only) plus two hours special opening time only for our group (max. 100 people) Saturday night, charge less than 40 Euro.More details:http://forum.miniatur-wunderland.de/the-english-corner-f58/invitation-for-our-meeting-in-september-2016-t33114.htmlDiscussion please there, we will answer all questions. Here you can finde some of my movies from Miniatur Wunderland:https://plus.google.com/+mikromodelleuMy facebook page:https://de-de.facebook.com/people/Harry-J%C3%B6rg/100010244834834Very important for me: I'm not a member of Miniatur Wunderland, I'm a friend only, who loves to visit it.Best regardsHarry

British modellers may be have to travel some miles more...Our accomodation is Ibis Hotel Hamburg City or A&O Hamburg Hauptbahnhof. Both Hotels are almost at the same location,10 minutes by feet to Hamburg railway main station, 20 minutes by feet to Miniatur WunderlandBest whishesHarry

Harry Jörg
Some details how to take part at this weekend. 1. Register in the forum of Miniatur-Wunderland: http://forum.miniatur-wunderland.de/ Reason: we are using this forum for organisation. 2. Register as attendee by using this page: http://www.golf.alfmeyer.de/miwula/anmeldg.html For the moment it's all. All attendees will get an email in August, about 2 weeks before the meeting, then they should pay the costs of about 40 Euros. This money can't be payed back. This is the only risk to loose money: to pay and nevertheless not to be in Hamburg at this weekend. Harry Jörg
Did I already tell you?: Three of us will bring along some radio controlled models (trucks and ships). Guests of our group are allowed to cruise with this models (not everywhere and everytime, but that doesn't reduce our fun). We are doing this since a couple of years and everything works fine. If a british modelrailroder drives a R/C truck: You are allowed to use the left side of the road. All other vehicles are stationary ;-) Some impressions: Salvage operation, container vessel Contship Pacific grounded because of low tide. A movie of some vessels:

Harry Jörg
The bad message: The 2016 meeting is over. The good message: In 2017 we will have this kind of meeting again: http://forum.miniatur-wunderland.de/the-english-corner-f58/invitation-for-our-meeting-in-september-2016-2017-t33114.html The Italy section of Miniatur Wunderland has been opened last week. An unbelieveable piece of perfection in modelling. Unfortunately they want to build Venedig and Monaco first, THEN they want to start building the British Isles (at last :-) ) I think it will be exciting how they will merge H0 and 00 gauge... Here are two movies we took at this weekend in September 2016: Regards from Germany Harry
